The biggest blunder was Morara putting his businessess public once he joined politics. The rule of the thumb once a businessman joins politics is to hide their businesses and run them using proxies. But on the taxes just to let guys know, VAT is tax that is deducted from the sale of ur merchandise i. e tax from the product revenue(sales) not expenses. Corporate tax is the tax deducted from the profits made having have taken into account all ur expenses, debts n liabilities visa vi ur revenue. So corporate tax n VAT tax are totally different. VAT tax usually applies if ur into the manufacturing business or dealing with any product either imported or manufactured locally that attracts the levy inform of VAT.So his VAT tax arrears probably come from his furniture n fashion businesses coz that's where he is dealing directly with production n sale of his merchandise. The income tax will be remmited from his real estate properties.
