@@kirtikumarshukla9947 injustice invites anarchy regardless of the religion, class, colour creed. It's the commonality which brings people together and unites them to fight the injustice together. I have known Ikram Sehgal Sb, intimately for the last 25 years, since I was CI NDU in 2001. I have read most of his books, but loved Flight from Oblivion, the most. His contribution to developing a National Security Policy for Pakistan was unparalleled. He gave us ideas when we were fumbling for formats on NSP. It pains me personally when his very identity is challenged by his very colleagues in uniform. Telling the DA Pakistan in Delhi in 71 that he must go back to fight for Pakistan was his faith and loyalty. His getting the major's rank during battle was unique. I met his CO Brig Taj, who himself was an SJ and bar, confirmed that he took the crown from his own uniform and put it on Sehgal's shoulders and named his company as Sehgal Company, seen in this video. Like he says, he has made his share of mistakes, but I vouch for his loyalty and faith in Pakistan. He has done more than many of us to help secure our country. Nobody should challenge his identity as a loyal and faithful Pakistani... But alas this is not Jinnah's Pakistan where his values of 11th Aug 47 speech, are totally amiss. Prayers and wishes for him and his children and grandchildren.

Recently made unclassified foreign documents shows Pakistan Government at the time wanted Bangladesh to have the sovereign status as a country as it was hard for East Pakistan for administration reasons. Infrastructures such as parliament etc were completed since 60s but but concerns were India might absorb the new country and make them their part. India was also concerned that if Bangladesh was to be independent, they would take West bangal and Assam as proposed pre 1947 by Bengal Muslim leaders. Mukti Banay was shown that the Pakistan Army was the enemy. Pakistan didn't want India to absorb Bangladesh into West Bengal. India didn't want Bangladesh to break West Bengal and Assam. It's easy to suggest that we should move on from 1971, but for Bangladeshis, that’s a difficult process. The brutal actions of the Punjabi and uncaring Pakistani army, including the killing of Bengalis and the rape of our women, are memories that won’t fade and cannot be forgiven. The loss of East Pakistan, now known as Bangladesh, was a significant blow to Pakistan, like losing a precious jewel. However, we hold no hatred towards Pakistan or its people. All we seek is a simple apology from Pakistan, which would help heal the wounds from the events of 1971.

People like you were called razakars in 1971, I hope you know that. Normalizing relations is one thing and forgetting one's own history is something else. Even America and Japan are allies today. But that doesn't make the Japanese forget about what happened. "I might be friendly to you, but I won't forget what you did to me" - that should be the principle. But, if someone prefers some other passport over their own, then they should know what they should do.

And it's not about you and me, definitely not about lecturing anybody. It's about having the right mentality. What awamileague did, literally selling 1971 was one extreme (not only an extreme but a disgrace to our history as well) and saying 'x country zindabad' is another extreme. Having a friendly relationship doesn't mean losing self awareness and dignity. And if any relation requires that, then it's anything but a 'friendly' relation.

Nor does he speak about Mujibur Rehman winning an overwhelming majority and therefore to be the PM of Pakistan. 2. He does not discuss Yahya Khan and his debauchery which is acknowledged as a reason for the breakup of Pak. 3 He tries to put it as if Pak was not to blame in any way " Forget 1971". How silly to have a country 1000 miles apart, culturally and linguistically different and call in one country. Why then did the breakup happen?
@rumishafaat25668 сағат бұрын
The same applies for Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Distance is not a major factor here. But all the other points you made I strongly comply with. The army is not meant to oppress its own people, burn their houses, kill sleeping children and women at midnight, Target kills religious minorities. It's exactly opposite to the teachings of islam and yet they call themselves muslims. We cannot forgive those atrocities without proper justice. And we will also not allow any other country to meddle with our sovereignty and independence. Whoever it is we won't allow that. Bangladesh is the only country in south asia which has achieved its independence through rigorous and bloody armed struggle not on a dining table. Everyone should remember that.

Good to listen a veteran of Pak Army, a pure breed of United Pakistan and an intellectual par excellence. However about Operation Jibralter , it took place in the backdrop of battle of Run of Kutch in early 65 when Indian Army was forced by Pak Army to retreat from encroached area. It was then that Shastri said that India would fight at the time and place of its own choosing. India brought its Army on war footing and maximum concentration was done in Pujab all set to attack Pakistan. It was this background that the then Pakistani Army Chief and President FM Ayub on being provided reliable intelligence by FM Mr Bhutto undertook the operation Jibralter to pre empt Indian designs against Pakistan. However this infiltration by Kashmiri Mujahideen into IHK got poor response from the locals and therefore it was aborted. Indian did attack Pakistan soon after in Sept 65 which indicates that they were fully prepared for invading Pakistan. The Indian Army had to eat a humble pie.

Pakistan can never remain as ONE NATION for long.. A forecast by Sardar Patel.. And it became truth in 1971.. Lies are endless and they spread and vanish very quickly.. Truth too is endless, but it is brutal and remains forever with your lives.. Pakistan got created for Islam and exists for Islam.. And Islam is the best example of such a lie.. Truth is your culture, traditions, beliefs, upbringing, education,language which decide the fate of your nation , both economically, as well as Militarily..
