Brilliant compositions. Hamauzu is a worthy partner / successor to Uematsu, but with his own style.

Yes therefore I used to view the images of the scans while listening to this, but now it's more interesting since it moves on its own :)

This album is beautiful. It’s the reason why I am picking up piano and am determined to learn the first song (Lightning’s theme) and it is unbelievably difficult. Little by little.
@dekirou320 Жыл бұрын
Omg glad to read this comment! Actually, I had learned Lightning's theme (i would say a beginner piano: playing john thompson's 1st grade) that it took me 3 months to memorize and figured out proper fingering. Ofc, i wont be able to master it as it requires countless hours of practice and repetitions, i actuall still am. Section B was hell as you will have to stretch your whole hands while getting the notes right; Section E took me several months to get the hang of the tempo and chords, it was really difficult at first! While the last section is supreme hell, to me, same goes to section E but the last would make you cry to give up. Neither exactly took me 3 months to learn it but the practice is hourless! You would be needing extraordinary technique from a real pianist. Nonetheless, I am glad that I can play Lightning's theme neatly than I did 3 years ago. You would need some research to those who have played it and from Aki Kuroda.

@@dekirou320 thank you for responding! So for accountability’s sake, I struggled with sticking to what I said I would do. The great news is that as of last week, I got myself a piano teacher within driving distance of where I stay and tomorrow is my second lesson so I am sticking to it! This is still a great song on my goal songs to learn! I think I will end up tackling The Sunleth Waterscape (The Promise) first since I love the melody and the key is C, which is a great place to learn. I’m so grateful for this piano collection as these are amazing compositions to aim at covering.

Wow, this is really weird... I knew FFXII and XIII had piano collections, but I'd never actually heard them before... despite them apparently being here on your channel all this time. I've watched all your other scrolling piano collections videos many times, but only now, quite a few years later, am I learning that not only have you uploaded XII and XIII, you uploaded them first. Well, hooray! Better late than never.

This album is boring. I miss the days of Uematsu and Shiro Hamaguchi.
@rokaimaster1002 жыл бұрын
Just a thought, but didn't Masashi Hamauzu work with Uematsu and Hamaguchi in many projects before 13? Like FFX? Collections wise, all the collection sets are great, but I wouldn't say this is boring. Hamauzu has a more ambient style than both Uematsu and Hamaguchi, but he brings in a different vibe to Final Fantasy, which does help other games that Hamauzu has made, that includes FFVII Remake.

@IkranAhiyik10 жыл бұрын
What do you mean by "original performance" and "broken chords"? Official version CD? Yes this is Aki's. You meant dissonant chords? They are the same as the score written. Or some variations between the recording and the score? Yes Aki did improvise quite often, but under the frame hinted by the score.
@123eldest10 жыл бұрын
Yes, I meant is this the official CD version. Broken chords are when the notes in a chord are played separately rather than together. Aki played a lot of them but they weren't marked on the score so I was just wondering if this was the official recording. Thanks.
@IkranAhiyik10 жыл бұрын
123eldest Oh this. I knew it should be meant this but I wonder why would this be a question. Even though there are improvisations 99% of the time it is the same as the score. So could you point out the spot which made you raise the question? Dispute my request, this IS the official version. It sounds weird but true, that the recording process (sound quality, loudness, pan, editing) and the exact timing for time-taking and rubato quickly shows the answer. (Assume that you have heard the same version somewhere else.)

IkranAhiyik It's all throughout the The Sunleth Waterscape piece. Listen to the section beginning at 6:18 in particular.
@123eldest10 жыл бұрын
IkranAhiyik I'm sure it is supposed to be like that it's just weird that it isn't marked on the score.
