Indeed more iconic than is hard. I love the Messer but perhaps the Spit is better overall. Johnson was a character, but what amazes me is Raymond Baxter, what a coolheaded guy. Survived the war to become a car racing commentator!

@@ivorbiggun710 Oh God, give me patience. No he was not. He was Canadian. George Johnson was a Canadian Spitfire Ace and was from Hamilton, Ontario. Look closely. That Spitfire has Canadian camouflage on it. See the Maple Leaf???? In addition, the black and white stripes means it was a D-Day plane. Maybe you lib'tards should do your own research instead of coming on KZbin channels proving you know shit.

The Spitfire flown here is by James Edgar Johnson of the RAF, born in England - highest scoring allied fighter pilot of the European theatre. Leading a Wing made up of three Canadian squadrons. I have his book Wing Leader. Do YOUR research...

Never said it was based in 1940. Title clearly says MkIX Spitfire. Cover photo is of Johnny Johnson's spit. In game is Johnsons spit.... description mentions Johnny Johnson, and lastly the K series was from 1944 onwards. Only the music is from the movie Battle of Britain

I wouldn't go as far as saying it would be trash. Adolf Galland himself admired the Spitfire. But it is true the Luftwaffe lacked high quality fuels as well as had many issues with production late war. Had the odds been even they would have enjoyed a much higher kill to loss ratio

What a stupid statement about fuel grade, the me109 had a much bigger engine and smaller air frame plus water/methanol boost if needed, trashing statement about the spitfire youre just talking crap do your home work you can have all the woulda coulda shuda but the end result was survival of Britain end off

@@bongosrest the RAF couldn’t save France in 1939-40 and Churchill lost the battle of Britain so they went begging the world for help esp America. Still Hitler rained bombs on the British empire and nothing was left. Britain today is nothing more than a island with boat loads of debt

@@javlin36859bb As per the description this is Wing Cmdr Johnny Johnson's D-Day Mk9 Spitfire. The music is just for atmosphere, not intended to be a BoB recreation. Unfortunately the BoX series of Il2 doesn't include BoB because it was already done in Cliffs Of Dover, which doesn't support VR.

I know. I stopped watching at 2:20 because I couldn't stand the music. It's completely unnecessary and doesn't fit what's going on. When you're watching a dogfight scene and music is covering up the sounds of engines and gunfire, somebody done fucked up.
