My mother was born in roccaromana and her parents were obviously from there born and raised my grandfather 14 brothers and sisters and my grandmother 12 brothers and sisters lol big family. They came on a boat to America in 1959 when my mother was 8 and her brother was 10 for a better life. Believe it or not Bruno Sammatino was on the boat also. My mom told my a story he was in the pool on the boat and went underwater and when he came up his nose was bleeding and my mother got scared for a second and He pinched my mothers cheeks And said I’m ok. I’ve heard so many stories about this town from my papa and nonna and mother in my life. My mothers parents barely spoke English. One day I would love to take my mother back there to see what it looks like now. I’ve always wanted to see where I’m from. My heritage. My fathers mother is also from Italy and could barely speak English but she was from rome by the water. It’s amazing how now I can see even the buildings they lived with google. It’s incredible. I’m very proud to be Italian and very proud to be from roccaromana. Supposedly we still own a mountain there in our family. Who knows lol. But I just hope 1 day to live to take my family to visit there and see this beautiful place before I/we die. 🇮🇹🇺🇸♥️
