The music was written by the famous Czech composer Josef Mysliveček (1737, Prague - 1781, Rome), was mentioned more than any other contemporary in W.A. Mozart's letters - who expressed admiration for the stylistic/compositional model of "Boemo" (his stage pseudonym).
In this modern world premiere performance/recording, German soprano Susanne Bernhard sings a rousingly spectacular bravura aria: 'Frà gl'affanni, oh Dio, ch'io provo' - written for the famous soprano castrato Tommaso Consoli (1753-after 1811).
