Thanks Ronald the Skyhawks did not have after burners and were only subsonic jets. After the acm, the Skyhawk was in good position, but could not keep up with the Harrier. Thanks for watching!

No, I think it's the tells the pilot missiles are armed and ready to fire

its the IR lock-on for the aim 9 missiles (heat seeking) when armed , tone changes when u get a lock (if you point at the target)IR sensor has a certain angle off target that you must be within to get a lock. the aim 9l is an all aspect missile , so u don't need to be behind the plane (ie it's lock onto heat signature) like earlier variants
