Ilife A4 robotic vacuum double beep solid red light error while charging

This video only shows the associated issue and not the solution. I've not been able to find any solution to this issue. So, this issue has not been resolved. If you have bought the product recently (around a year or so) and having this issue then try reaching out to iLife Customer Support like I did to get a refurbished one.

place it on and off the charging dock very rapidly like 3 to 4 times maybe 5 ending up with it sitting on the charger all while holding the power button. It will/should go into a flashing amber which means that it's charging. Leave it until it turns green 👍🏽 Tip: when placing it on and off the charger rapidly just barely lift it up to where you can place it down immediately over and over and over almost like a slight shaking rhythm making sure to make contact and disconnect with the charger terminal rapidly. Tip 2: if you don't have a charging dock and you're using the plug I would suggest unplugging and plugging back in the female port that connection to the side of the robot quickly as possible to achieve the same effect I stated in the previous instructions.. I really hope that this works for you it worked for me and saved me from throwing away my robot. good luck

Ik had dit probleem ook ik dacht de batterij is te leeg voor de electronica dus ik heb de kabel van de oplader doorgeknipt kun je later met een kroonsteen of zo weer aan elkaar maken. dus de twee draadjes in de gaatjes van de batterij gestopt kijk uit met plus en min plus is gemarkeertd paar uur opladen dan de kabel weer maken batterij terug en bij mij doet hij het weer fantaschtisch ik heb een v7s plus en een a4 plus hadden allebij hetzelfde accu was te leeg voor de electronica nu weer goed hoop jullie geholpen te hebben . ZALIG NIEUWJAAR.

I may have just found a solution. They told me to replace battery but it is fairly new. Today I unplugged it with the power switch off. Then I held down button for ten seconds and plugged in while still holding. Then a very different sound and solid green light. I release button and it is green charge with no chirps. Hope this helps.

@@cannabiscuisine9545 fyi- recently I started doing this right when I put it on charger. All was green light and quiet. But then when I deployed it, it died after 1 minute. I think maybe robot has to charge regular style at first. But then when it starts bad chirping with red light is when you do the thing I described. Bottom line- my battery isn’t “bad”. It just charges in a complicated way I guess.

There is a reply to the comment below. 1. Turn off the power switch 2. Connect the adapter while pressing the operation button 3. After 10 seconds in the above state, release the button. Result: It resets with a strange sound and operates normally. PS : When charging, turn off the main switch. Have a good day~

i also have a problem. When charging it will appear to be charging but after awhile the light will go off and nothing. So when i got to turn it on it goes for a bit and then stops and has the red light again.

This video was uploaded so that I can share the link with iLife customer support to show what the issue is which I did and in return they sent me the refurbished one for free. So , I think this issue cannot be resolved.

Someone in a different thread claimed that the robot should be turned on while charging. Not sure if this is true but, I’m going to try it. Previously I’ve always turned switch off while charging but, it still charged fine.

This is a battery failure. If the unit does not respond and resolve the issue with a new battery, did you buy the official battery? 3rd party sellers may sell old batteries or items that do not have the proper specs. If an official battery does not help, ensure the power cord is 19V for output and try a direct charge. If that does not help, the unit is broken as the charging cell on the cpu side is failing. Proper charging practices and official parts help a lot.

i have the A6 but it does the same thing. rlly no way to fix it? does this just happen or does something like water damage do this?

As far as i know no fix. And it just happens without water damage or anything like that. I even tried replacing with new battery but no use.

I bought a new replacement battery to see if it will fix the issue but unfortunately it did not. So, the solution to the issue doesn't appear to be trivial.

So I did as Tony McKinnon did, but I didnt have a loose wire. I removed the sensor plate that houses the cliff sensor wire behind the front push bar. There is a sensors are on each end, one of them was twisted just a bit, I twisted it back to center and put it back together an it stopped beeping twice and went back to charging. This issue cannot be resolved but you can ask for refurbished product from the customer support.

Has anyone tried replacing the charger itself. Not the doc just the charger. Based on my experience with mine I would say that it was either the charger or the charging secrets in the vacuum. Because the vacuum still works normally this problem only happens when you charge it.

I found out that the two beeps while charging is a result of safety features to prevent overcharging. I haven't tried buying a new charger yet . I unplug the vacuum when it is charged . Then use it as normal when I'm ready to vacuum.

It's not going to work even with new battery. I tried it as well by buying a new battery with no use. I ended up contacting the customer support who sent me the refurbished one for free and that one it is still working.

There is a problem with your battery, Replace it. the red light does not light up and no beeps.
