How to grow Borax Crystals || ilikediyprojects

Let's grow some borax crystals! This is a fun #scienceexperiment that you can do easily and cheaply at home! You don't need much for this project - mostly time and patience!
Materials:
Boiling water
Borax
Pipe cleaners
Thread
Dowels or other object to hang pipe cleaners from
Heat-safe glass or container
Step 1: Prep Your Pipe Cleaners
Step 2: Make a Saturated Solution - For every 2 cup of water add 1 1/2 cup of borax. Stir it until the water becomes clear and majority of the borax is dissolved. A saturated solution is just what it sounds like. In this case, it means that we need to add enough Borax to the boiling water until no more can be dissolved into the water.
Step 3 Assemble and Wait! - After 2 = 3 hours take it out and add more borax and warm up the water in the glass. Put the crystal back and let it sit for 24 hours.
Step 4: Dry the Crystals and Enjoy!
