My favorite is the Proxima because it’s not a 1:1. IX&DAO is the best 1:1, but that Tandorio is a surprisingly excellent value for the money. Especially since there is no branding on the dial. Great comparison Sir.

I bought IX&DAO with the white dial. I love it. I spent a touch more and got it with the Selita movement.

I believe Ix&Dao were first to homage the original Serica watch. and I think I would stick with it, personally. The bracelet on this one is actually the same style, as in case of original watch. The date complication is something, that differs the homage from original - original Serica watch is a no-date, so probably that's why Proxima and Tandorio also went with it (and a lot of people prefer no-dates anyway). It could be somewhat hard to choose between Ix&Dao and Proxima, because as I own a Proxima watch, I must admit their watch finishing is almost up there with San Martin and Cronos. But in this case I would also opt for solid caseback and the original bezel layout (with "minutes" and "heures"), therefore Ix&Dao wins this for me, and I don't mind the date window, because good homages are never 1:1 copies, so it's more like an "added value" to me. I wouldn't be surprised though, if someone would choose Proxima instead, because of their quality finishing. Tandorio... Well, I'm not saying it's "bad" or anything, but it's extremely cheap (especially for a mechanical watch), and it shows. For such a hilariously low price though, it looks surprisingly solid. I mean I've seen a lot of much more expensive watches, which made worse impression...

I have the Tandorio and I must say I'm quite impressed. I paid £63.43 on the very comfortable rubber strap and an extra £4.28 for a milanese bracelet from Amazon which I confess I have not worn yet. I had seen your water pressure tests on other Tandorios so having decided to regulate it as it was running somewhat fast I noticed the rubber gasket on the case back wasn't seated properly which was easily rectified. I'm happy with the bezel action and alignment is spot on albeit with a little back play.I opted for the white dial version so legibility is far superior to the black hands on black dial.

I got the Tandorio yesterday (also went with the white dial for legibility reasons), and I'm also quite impressed. I had seen a couple of reviews before ordering and had adjusted my expectations accordingly, but I was pleasantly surprised. The case finishing looks much better than what I've seen online, the brushing seems to be a bit finer, and the transitions between polished and brushed are actually quite crisp. The only thing I can really criticize it the bezel action, it turns a bit too easlily for my taste. But there are no misalignment issues from what I can tell.

I was reading through the comments and was pleasantly surprised to see Tandorio getting so much positive attention. I remember when the KZbin watch community started reviewing this brand saying they wouldn't recommend the watch just because the name reminded them of indian food. I was caught up in the criticism and it took me a while to pick up my first Tandorio watch, a sort of Hamilton field homage, and I couldn't be happier. As a matter of fact it hasn't left my wrist in months. I've worn it in the shower, in the ocean swimming, knocked it around on a ship (yes a 600+ ft. ship) and it has kept perfect time right out of the box. I really like the design of these watches and like many others have indicated, if I was going to choose the best value for money, I would choose Tandorio without question. Well Tandorio is consistently cheaper than other brands and inexpensiveness is its own quality. It also doesn't hurt that you can buy sterile dial from them, any watch, any day of the year.

Unless someone is going to wear one of these as their only watch then the Tandorio is the best bang for your buck used in a watch rotation.

Tandorio at 1/3 the price? I'm either buying that or the Serica. I have a 36mm Tandorio that I love, the watch I wear the most, supposed to be 200m WR. I put it in the skimmer basket for the pool and ran the pump for a while. Not a hint of condensation inside. Nothing wrong with Tandorio, imo. Cheers!

I think the Proxima is the best looking of the bunch. You know those elongated lines on the minutes markers you like? Yeah, I'm not a fan of that at all.

I think I'd go Proxima. They've added their own little design cues instead of a straight copy of the Serica. Nice comparison video btw

I like the Tandorio. I like the distortion in the crystal. You can see the time better when tilted imo. I also have no problem with doing a light disassembly, to save a bit of money. Thanks Gary! I like the new effects you've been using.

I bought both the white dial Tandorio and the black during the last 11/11 sale. (The white is actually a pearly color.) Very nice watches, keep excellent time, and the rubber straps are very comfortable. Unfortunately, the black is almost useless due to the handset. You can barely see the time. I have to wonder if whoever selected black on black even wears a watch.

If the Ix is the most "accurate homage" I guess I just wouldn't like the watch it's a homage of. I think the Proxima beats the others hands down in every area plus I would pay the extra and get the sw200-1 version with the date. The only thing I don't like about it and which is more prominent on the others is the line from the indices to the minute track, makes the dials look weird.

If they weren't meant to be a homage i think id prefer the Proxima, but in terms of similarities to the original it falls way short. Its like an MG-TD kit car built on a Volkswagen beetle.

I own the IX-DAO in blue w/white dial, and I absolutely love it. Most days it beats out all my other divers for wrist-time. It runs about +5 secs/day. I love the unique bracelet and the micro-adjustability of it, not to mention the inherent weight savings. The lume is outstanding, the watch sits quite low on my wrist and is super comfy. All in all, it's got the looks, quality construction and features you would expect on a $500-$1,000 watch for less than 1/2 of what you would expect to pay. Good choice!

The applied indices on the Proxmia look so good, but I do agree that its bezel does let it down. The Proxima's indicies also look shorter.

I own the Ixdao, and it's a fantastic watch. Don't know why Proxima decided to use applied indices, and they used the wrong bracelet. The Tandoria is what it is. The IXDAO is leagues ahead

No surprise, I prefer the Ixdao! A bit disappointed with the Proxima one. Too many bad choices imo. It's a shame because it could have been the best one. I don't like the Tandorio, but it's still good value for money for sure. Ixdao the clear winner!

I’d maybe gentle suggest adding the watch brand name to some of the shots - as at times it is hard to keep up to which is which as the voice over can be talking about one watch whilst the screen is displaying another watch. Small friendly criticism of an otherwise fantastic video. 👏

Tandorio with light colored dial like proxima and want the sterile dial option so I dont have to look at the name . Now I can afford the PT5000 option for $40 more. I think the easiest way to tell double dome vs single dome is to look at the reflections. On double dome both the first and second reflection move the same direction. On single dome the first and second reflection move opposite directions and "touch in the middle".

The PT5000 is a 28800 bph movement, right? It's a shame about the poor dial/hand contrast on the Proxima and Tandorio. I guess you could always get the Proxima _and_ the Tandorio with the PT5000 and swap the hands?

I feel like homages of already small brands shouldn’t be pushed… probably actually affects them unlike somebody who buys some Rolex homage. As an owner of the Serica GMT, I doubt there is a comparison side to side, but even if there was, it’s serica’s design and nobody else’s.
