got a lot of respect for these dudes, something tells me they may not get much sleep, have to get up early (like super early) in the morning to setup... in the cold UK winters. but they all put on one hell of a show when the fair opens to it's all worth it really!

Indeed! I'm a artic driver and I can tell you that trailers can be difficult to maneuver into some places at the best of times. Let alone dragging a heavier and longer trailer through a tight town centre with buildings, street furniture, pedestrians and other vehicles to contend with like the showmen have to. Those boys have some serious driving skill positioning those trailers with inch perfect precision every time.

It's fascinating how the showmen put these rides together, used to love watching the build up of loughborough fair when I worked in the town centre there.

The sheer amount of money these showmen have tied up in rides, trucks and other equipment must be absolutely staggering. It's the first thing I think of every year at Ilson when the heavens open. As they always do :(

It’s only private ground you can’t film there’s no laws for filming in a public place which is what Ilkeston fair is.
