@@Explorcation Yep! There's even a famous (to Yorkshire folk at least!) song called On Ilkley Moor Baht 'at (which means on Ilkley Moor without a hat)

The colors in this are absolutely gorgeous. The views are stunning and the history of the stones is just fascinating! We would love to do this hike if we ever end up in the area 😊

Never been on Ilkley Moor before, so good to watch this. Looked a great walk with plenty of options, especially a pub, which sounds awesome in the winter. Very detailed and well explained video, cheers Alan

Such beautiful landscape, love this documentary type of video. I can spot the red kite and the grouse, yes! Seems like super windy there. 12 Apostles are looking awesome!
@OurTravelPlace3 жыл бұрын
We see red kites quite frequently where we live and the novelty never wears off! I wish it hadn't been too windy the capture the noise the grouse makes because I always find their call pretty funny 😂 Thanks for watching 🙂

This is a great guide! The Backstone Beck area seemed very peaceful. I love how you shared common mistakes. The Pub sounds like a great place to stop in.

I'm not sure if those are common mistakes or just our mistakes, haha 😅 It's a great walk though. Like you say, very peaceful! Thank you for watching!

Great guide which I hope to use this weekend, just one question though at 3:40 you say take the left path, but the gentleman in the video is pointing right? I don’t want to get lost, without my hat 🙏🏻
@OurTravelPlace3 жыл бұрын
Ah I see why that's confusing, my bad! It will be a left turn as you will be going down the hill, facing in the same direction as I am holding the camera, and you will turn left... I should have had my boyfriend face the way we were walking so that he would have been pointing left too, rather than him facing up the hill towards us! Does that make sense?
@angelasmith51043 жыл бұрын
Yes that makes perfect sense thank you for replying so quickly, and also for your fantastic guide, I’ve downloaded it so that when my phone signal disappears I won’t disappear with it across the moors 😂
@OurTravelPlace3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome, thank you for watching! There is also an OS map in the video description that has a similar (but not identical) route to the one we show you (I couldn't find the exact one we did) so you can always use that too. It just differs a little near the start of the walk as they go around the woodland area rather than straight through it. Enjoy your walk!

Thanks for your suggestion (and nice comment!). I've almost finished editing the next video but for walking videos after that I will have a think as to how family friendly they are. I do want to make these videos as helpful as I can so your feedback is much appreciated 🙂👍

I should add, I think Ilkley Moor is a good place to take kids for a walk (assuming they aren't pushchair age)!
@crose74122 жыл бұрын
@afty * Surely it depends how old, active, enthusiastic or well-behaved the children are?
