Respect to Nihal, extremely composed person even in such a situation and arranged back the pieces. Awesome. Now he has great tool of being able to control emotion and do the thing hope this tool gives him some great results. Irrespective of that I salute Nihal for arranging the pieces and not leaving right away.

That's the respect for the game I needed to see. Starting to be a fan of Sarin. I always set up the game, if I lose or win, before I leave the playing field. That's how I've been told, someone else will come after me or "clean up" by putting the pieces in the box if the night/match is over. Don't leave without at least putting your opponents pieces on the board. If he left, put all pieces on the board. He does it even though he just lost the tournament, huge respect.
@checkanr138
@checkanr138 Жыл бұрын
tourney was over, no need to set up the pieces as they will go into the box anyway. praham correctly put the kings in the right position on the digital board to signal he won the game. it is just a blitz tournament, i dont get it why people act like this was rude, i saw caruana yesterday not arranging the pieces as well at the olympiad and caruana is a very respectful guy. there is no rule in any chess book that says you need to arrange the pieces after a game. i also do it, but i totally get it, when people do not, especially when they are loaded with emotion or it is the last round.

What amazes me is the demanour of these players, after culmination of the match. It speaks volumes about a player who leaves without even bidding a goodbye and also, about a player who arranges the board in the aftermath.
@checkanr138
@checkanr138 Жыл бұрын
it is completely normal to leave the board after a game, there is no rule that you need to arrange the pieces, actually it was the last round and there is absolutely no need to arrange the pieces after the last round. his opponent places the kings so the DGT (digital board) can signal to the online transmission, that he has won the game. nihal was just angry about losing and that is why he arranged the pieces out of frustration and habit. his opponent is a 2700 elo player that did not play unfair at all and won fair and square, shook his hand after the game and it is common that you are loaded with emotion after a game and stand up.

He didnt think that he won the game, he thought it would be a time penalty. But his king was in check and he touched the bishop and moved it and there was no legal move with that bishop so he lost the game. Remeber Vidit vs Nakamura game. Where vidit did an illegal move but there was possible legal move with the king so after the time penalty game continued.
