I can Fully Understand Why this is happening but with No Double Yellow Lines and No Waiting or No Parking Signs on Display it’s Not Illegal to Park there . What the Recovery Wagons are Doing is Illegal as it’s Theft of a Motor Vehicle . The People who have had their Cars Stolen by the Recovery Vehicles need to Report their Cars as Stolen and fight any Charges that they would face to Get Their Cars Back .

Yeah right - good luck following that advice. Parking prohibition notices were placed on all of the adjacent lamp posts over several days [read the video narrative]. If the council want to paint double yellow lines what are they supposed to do - wait until the road is magically clear of all cars?

I live in the shire of Renfrew too. It amazes me that the Council actually want to clean out the gullies in that road. They don’t clean them out on any other road in the shire so why this one?

They used to park on the other side too on the pavement until they got the lines painted. I had to walk in the road to get by them all.

Double yellow lines will be painted on this stretch of road due to congestion with parked cars. Hope that helps with questions.

@@davemccann473 Parking prohibition notices have been p on every lamppost since 5th June 2024 to prevent parking, the council have given them many chances not to park but it has continued. as a last resort there removing all vehicles two streets away so the gulls can be cleaned and double yellow lines painted.

There seems to be a concerted effort by the airport to make it as difficult as possible for someone to walk to and from the airport. If it ain’t collecting revenue for them they are not interested. Anyone trying to avoid the extortionate drop off and pick-up charges now has to walk around 1/2 a mile before they can get picked up.

What’s it got to do with the airport, contractors are form the council as are the tickets from wardens. The cars are away to the pound. Plenty of zones and notices been posted which are ignored.

I don’t encourage any of my pals to travel from London to Scotland by air anymore. I used to use this airport to visit my family in London two or three time a years not anymore, what with being ripped off by both Glasgow and Luton airports for picking up and dropping off Glasgow-airport can get stuffed, not to mention to journeys to these airports at both ends. Taken all the hassle and wasted time flying it’s much quicker and easier for me to drive or take the train. Fuck e’m..

@@highfidelity1st I’m with you on that one, I regularly fly to Bristol, worst airport ever, but the train is over £400! When they’re not on strike! I just get my mates to drop me off/ pick me up. Btw, it’s £4/ hour to park in Glasgow now, so fuck em too lol

When Im picking up anyone from the airport i just clog up the road from the roundabout along to the airport roundabout continually until they call me to drive into the pick up point 😂

The danger of crossing over the opposite side of the road with oncoming traffic is pretty evident so it’s understandable what’s happening here. People only really started parking there post Covid. I was a taxi driver until 2021 and can remember there rarely being any cars parked along that stretch of road. Taxis and other motorists would park along Marchburn Drive waiting to pick up from the airport until double yellow lines were painted and the council wardens and police moved them along.

Ignorance of the law on show again in these comments. While I don't like this at all, there are prohibition notices clearly displayed by the council with cones stopping parking under the order. Should works be delayed by those not co-operating with the order, that would add costs and further delay to the works, all picked up by the council charge paying public, to the added cost of thousands. Is that fair, so a few people can park where they shouldn't? The council has a duty of care when removing those vehicles and they remove with care not to damage those vehicles. Should they damage the vehicle, the owner has a claim against the council, which would likely be paid by the recovery service insurance. I don't like the fact that airports charge for simply entering their space to drop someone off and that is exploitation but in this case, the drivers are clearly breaking the order by parking there and the council then has powers to remove the vehicle, store it securely and charge the owners fees, as they parked illegally. Ignorance of the laws does not change any of this.

Some people in the comments are so ignorant of the law there has been signs put up from june about the parking so people should know it is illegal to park in this location and as such if you leave your car then its illegally parked. The council cannot paint lines due to the ignorant driver who constantly park in this location. I agree GA and its prices are a disgrace to drop people off but these cars parked here are not dropping anyone.

Well I don't know glasgow that well but I have noticed that there's no double yellow lines where these vehicles are getting picked up from unless there's a sign declare no parking then there fine will be none and void and it use to be a £1 for a quick pickup now £5 or £7 what a rip off what happens if it's delayed it could cost a fortune another scam these days

Just another way to exploit motorists, It costs £5 ( rising to £7 I’m told ) to drop family off at the airport. Exploitation of the motorist at every chance. Public transport link services to this airport are a disgrace.

These are not people trying to avoid the drop off point charges but leaving their cars parked illegally during their holidays. They are avoiding long term parking charges.

just so you have to use glasgow airport parking also the dearest drop off airport in the uk what done they just put traffic wardens there in the morning to explain this issue get a sticker for gas bottles they cant lift you

The parked cars create a lot of congestion here, as people are dumping their cars and going to the airport. I've seen cars clip eachother because of the lack of passing space on the road. The cars on this road have had repeated warnings to not park there, and there was a sign saying the roads are being painted. Everyone one of these road users didn't care.

I wonder if there's a Temporary TRO in place? Wouldnt be the first time an LA just put up the CorrEx and put out the No-Waiters. They would also have to prove that both were present when the vehicles were ticketed and removed, which means a TM crew would have gone out the night before to 'maintain' them.

@PaisleyPhotographs I am not from Scotland but I would think most people would be looking for double yellow lines to say they are not allowed to park there not some signs stuck on lamp posts.. I hope the yellow lines are there very, very quick or I can see a good lawyer taking the local authority to task in the courts.

Quite bloody right, but I fear this will lead to a return of inconsiderate travellers parking in communities near by and getting a taxi from there. Years ago this happened a lot in Erskine where holiday goers would park up in residential areas and then call a taxi from where ever they parked saving a small fortune on long haul parking fees, meaning some residents were struggling to park in the street and in some cases these ignorant tossers parked across driveways blocking access to the highway. It got so bad we started cling filming cars, or covering them in eggs and flour just to teach them a lesson and it worked.

Maybe they should be doing this all over Glasgow lifting illegally parked cars areas next to the city centre in particular they come from all over park there cars and do a disappearing act till they finish work in city centre people who live in these areas can’t park there cars for this leave your car we’re you live get public transport to work like rest us

Yellow buggy is for 4 wheel drive cars so they aren’t dragged and damaged. Usually used for lifting cars out of multi story car parks.

The law requires painted yellow lines or cones along the edge of the pavenment for the law to charge them for unathorised parking. Remove the cars to paint the lines, perhaps. But to charge them for illegal parking to get their car back when there are currently no painted lines on the road may be difficult to argue in court. I am also struggling to see any prohibition notices on the lamposts in this video. So either they aren't there or they are extremely hard to see and not know if it's advertising for 'wasps destroyed' or a 'parking prohibition'. Not sure if removing a vehicle from the side of the road without proper road markings would stand in court.
