Arestado ang diumano ay illegal wildlife trader na si alyas "Jerry" noong August 7 sa Blk. 40, Purok 6, Brgy. Sta. Ana, sa Taytay, Rizal, sa operasyon na pinangunahan ng Special Maritime Response Team (SMaRT)-PNP Maritime Group, kasama ang 3rd Special Operations Unit, at Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Ayon kay P/Maj. Dandy Ferriol, ang operasyon ay sa ilalim ng search warrant na inisyu ng presiding judge ng Branch 74, Regional Trial Court, Antipolo City, noong August 6, dahil sa paglabag sa Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act (RA 9147).
"Nakita namin itong tao na ito sa Facebook na nagbebenta ng mga ibon na classified as wildlife at endangered species. Nagsagawa kami ng imbestigasyon and then nag test buy kami, after mag-positive, nag turnover kami sa DENR. At the same time, nag-request kami ng certification kung may permit ang tao and accordng doon ay wala siyang permit," pahayag ni Ferriol.
Kabilang sa mga nakumpiska ay 154 na Sun Conures, Green Cheek Conure, Cockatiels, African Love Birds, Parakeets, at Budgie Birds. Mayroon din na dalawang piraso ng Malayan box turtles. Ang estimated value ng mga nakumpiska ay aabot sa ₱200,000. - Arphil Ballarta
