When it comes to state laws, I will definitely have a voice that will be heard. That's why I say, "Pack your bags and move to a state that's more in line with your convictions."

Regarding stores with the no firearms sign, I would rather CC in there anyways. God forbid I need to defend myself inside the store, I would rather face that charge than being a victim of a violent crime. That’s just me though…

There are stores that I no longer go to as well, but in some cases no choice. I always wonder when I enter a store with that "Target Rich Free Fire Zone" (my own opinion of that sign). So, as I said that sign loses my business if I have a choice.

I just put it in my trunk, my car has a secret button that keeps trunk locked no matter if you try to open it with the key or the trunk button in the car. One time i forget I put it on and I thought my trunk was broken😂

Most of the time I have mine in my go EDC. Sometimes I forget it in the trunk of my wife's car My car is a hatch back . My wife has gotten to the point of asking if the trunk is clear, before she goes shopping. LOL.

Yes very true. Just be sure your tint level is within state guidelines or it will make you a pull over target and it makes the police a little nervous, so expect the police to have a more heightened posturing. Per my dad who was a police officer.

The whole downtown of Chicago has it illegal to even pull into a parking deck. You can not park in a deck in Chicago.

There is no real way to secure a firearm in a vehicle to prevent it from being stolen. Locked glove boxes and center consoles can be popped open with a simple screwdriver or some really strong individuals can simply pry them open with their bare hands. Car trunks can be easily accessed by pulling off the rear seat back rest. From the way it looks that gun safe that you have can be easily stolen by just cutting that small gauge cable it's attached to. The way I see it if thieves can quickly cut off and steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle in public areas in broad daylight then cutting loose a gun safe should be no problem for them also. Thieves can also just simply steal the vehicle and the firearm in the safe discovered later on becomes an added extra bonus. We should never be placed in a situation where we ever have to leave a firearm unattended in a vehicle in the first place.

I agree with you but the hard reality for some of us, that live in states that tell you you can't carry in a specific store or location, we have to store our firearm sometimes. I work at a location that firearms are not allowed and to break that law would be immediate firing and possible arrest. I wish it was not that way so using safes if better than leaving it under the seat. I do have one advantage, no one would ever want to steal my vehicle.

Good question and I would say lock it up in a location you can’t get to, I.e. your trunk, and leave it there until you get home. My second comment would be, and I do not know, if your blood alcohol is under .08 can you legally carry. I’m not a lawyer so I don’t know. I do not drink away from home so I never checked this out.

I purchased my 1st AR15 back in December here in Illinois. I remember hearing something about having 200 days to register it then I can't find anything on this matter. So my question is do we still have to? The Illinois State Police are next to impossible to get in contact with

The PICA law states that the ISP is to establish a registry by Oct 1st 2023 that legal owners of said banned rifle must register their rifles by 1/1/2024. So far no registry exists and I’m guessing it will not be ready, unless this law is struck down then it will not be needed, by October 1st. So technically yes we are still required to but not yet.

As far as the spare mag I don’t believe you would get in trouble but I’m not a lawyer or police officer but the law says nothing about ammo. As far as the school parking lot the law specifically states you are allowed to carry into the lot and be able to walk around your vehicle to store your firearm. The only facility that it states you can not bring a firearm into the parking lot or on the property is a nuclear power plant. I always carry and store my firearm in a locked box under my seat secured to the vehicles frame I’m not the only one that does this at my school. Thanks for the questions and be safe.

little late on this post but have a question. With a FOID card you are able to transport your weapon as long as its unloaded and encased. The center console and glove box was shown to be legal places for your weapon to be stored while driving. Just want to be sure, your weapon can be put in the glove box, and any magazines in the center console, that would legal?

As far as I know yes. As long as firearm and ammo is separated. It would be even better if you were able to lock the center console and glove box. Many will say it is best to have your firearm unloaded and in a case or bag in the trunk. My problem with that is how do you get it if you need it.

Going hunting or to a range, the firearm can not be carried where you can immediately reach it. So, a locked trunk or the back are a of a SUV and in a case.

No. I lock mine because of the number of break ins in cars parked in parking lots. In the trunk is good. I have mine under my seat and I just purchased a biometric safe for quick access.

As long as you have a CCL yes. Locked car or trunk. If you don’t have a CCL the firearm can not be accessible to you.
