The gravel cycling gem that is NW Illinois! Thanks for coming up to our neck of the woods and giving the Ten Thousand some love!

Hey! Hi! Yay, you’re visiting Illinois! Stockton! Such gorgeous scenery. That hill in Stockton , ouch, oof. Kudos for riding that in a straight line. Ha! Thank you for posting .

Fantastic footage JOM!! I grew up in Chicago and never realized they had these sorts of roads. Might have to put this one on my list.

Plenty of rewarding climbs in that area. That section down to the Mississippi is a blast.

GC- if you're in the area in late June, you should ride the Horribly Hilly Hundred up in Wisconsin. Same type of terrain and very well-supported event.

Close to my neck of the woods, I’m in Northern Illinois, not too far from Wisconsin, but more in the center-

I love watching your rides, so much varied scenery and terrain. Also loved the individual bike reviews from Sea Otter. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for this. So beautiful. I’ve been trying to get myself out to the Driftless region of Iowa for a week or so of gravel exploring. This video just might be the last little push I needed to make it happen. Keep these ride videos coming. So appreciated. ❤

Great video. If traveling to this area, you can also do the Heritage Trail out of Dubuque, IA, for your level day recovery. Takes you out into the middle of nowhere, which is always quite nice. Dubuque has many cyclists.

I did spot the trail as I drove into Dubuque. I have a ride experience video coming soon from that awesome little town. 😀👌

Route very similar to the Wisconsin/SE Minnesota area of Lake Pepin around Mississippi River and SE MN. Also nearby WI - Plum City Pumper route.

My dad used to own One of those cabins along the Mississippi at the bottom of Diggin Hill Road there where you went under the railroad viaduct. I used to like to start my rides going UP that hill. My friends were not such big fans of that 😂

Absolutely beautiful area, one of the gems in the Midwest. Far more beautiful than the mainstream locations made popular by certain events we hear so much about. I hope to return.

Me too. I just returned from Summer in my Aussie homeland, and I'm PO'd about the lack of DST, and in your case, it is probably snowed AF in IL :(

Not during this ride, I followed the 2022 70-mile route with a detour to Elizabeth for re-supply.
