Illinois Gubernatorial debate | Incumbent J.B. Pritzker (D) & challenger Darren Bailey (R)

The stage in Illinois State University’s Braden Auditorium will be the setting for the live television broadcast of a gubernatorial debate between Democratic Governor JB Pritzker and Republican challenger Darren Bailey at 7 p.m. Thursday, October 6.
The debate will be hosted by Nexstar Media Group and presented by AARP and Illinois State University. The event will be televised live on Nexstar affiliates throughout the state including Central Illinois’ WMBD-TV, radio broadcast on NPR affiliates WGLT and WCBU, and will be covered by La Voz, the Spanish-language section of the Chicago Sun-Times.

@@hiramnoone I get that and I agree with you! I think the one thing that I give the current system credit for is that change comes slowly in it. Even if you need to tear the whole thing down and start over, if that change happens too quickly there will be people who are hurt in the transition if it happens too quickly (I'm not ignoring the people who are hurt *by* the system changing too slowly, that's still a huge problem) but if a leader makes the wrong choices, a slower system allows the people to course correct before things go too far down the wrong road. It also keeps things from completely falling apart and needing to start from square 1 every few years. Thats just my opinion though; what are your thoughts?

And all other issues he is going back to repeal them and meet with all people. What we really need to do is sit down, see where all these funds are really going and reallocate resources. The most funded schools in IL are inner city public schools in Chicago and they are some of the worst performing. Hence throwing money at a problem doesn’t fix it. So the whole “sit down at the table” is just a term of seeing how the money is being spent and resource it better.

Exactly, it's not about volume or "well maybe" the public didn't like it. The guy literally restricted dining, putting costs over head crushing small businesses. Kind of hard to stay open if you can't have anyone come into eat or shop. Then his bail outs, yeah I applied and never saw a dime for my business. Lucky I have customers that really helped being mobile instead of a shop. Guy also kept kids masks for two years when in that two years more kids died from obesity than Covid.
