In my opinion the crown jewel of the museums diesel fleet is the vintage Burlington Nebraska Zephyr it was Originally built as the Twin Cities Zephyr it was later reassigned as the Nebraska Zephyr it originally had an early diesel engine with the front appearance of the Pioneer Zephyr one surviving example is the Silver Charger on display at the St. Louis Museum of transportation today the Zephyr is pulled by Chicago Burlington and Quincy E5A number 9511 one of the last operating slant nose E units In operation
