All BMWs should be ridden like this. I was told that all the scratches, dings, etc are really souvenirs and remind you of places you've been, people you've met and scenery you've seen🕊

I bought a 1999 K1200 LTC back in 2000 that had just over 400 miles showing on the odometer (original owner couldn’t handle the weight). I put 50,000 miles on that bike in a little over five years. Other than changing the oil and tires, the bike was absolutely trouble free. Great bike! Wish I kept it.

Kirk Other then ignitor problems and the transmission recall what other problems does the k1600 have and is it better than the k1200lt for dependable and repair costs doing it yourself thanks

Had the honor of being the first to total a K1600, certainly in the USA, but was told anywhere worldwide. The right side of the engine which is ground at the bolt, was completely ground through so the bolt itself was ground down. The bike was the second delivered in the USA and the small engine guards weren't available. The fuel tank was cracked as well. But, the rear bags while ground up were still useable. Yes, the bike is tough.

I live in the UK. If I wanted a mile munching, A to B bike for high miles on the motorway (freeway in USA?) then the K1600 would be my choice. Sadly there are few journeys in the UK where I could rightfully justify one. Too much slow traffic, too many nadgery country lanes, and crap road surfaces. Great video though...

That's an impressive number of miles. My 2000 LT is just turning 100k and it's showing a little wear and tear too. Runs great though.

All BMWs are problem bikes. Let’s be honest. 😂. My K1200LT has had more problems than my four Kawasakis combined.
