People troll them but they're one of the most original Kpop groups from the recent years. The fact that they didn't go the easy way with the girl crush concept like everyone else (even though most of the members are more comfortable with that) is enough. They have their own identity in their discography, choreographies, visual style, MVs... I've been into kpop for a long while but I've never seen a group incorporate even the little details to forge themselves an identity like that. It's really impressive.

true. a lot of people say they're "unoriginal" bc they lean into a cuter concept, but honestly their cute/bubblyness isn't seen a lot in kpop, they also lean heavily into the 8-bit style while incorporating a sense of melancholic vibe to a few songs (?) it's kinda hard to explain. also, i laugh at how people call them unoriginal and say they'd be better with a girl crush/cool concept as if that isn't the most worn out concept in kpop 😭
