Cradle of Filth is an equally well band as Ilnath because both have their symphonic melodic sound and still keeps the metal we all strive for. The only difference is one band likes to change style once in a while and the other likes their current style, i'm sure you guys can figure which is which.

@SkyFang20606 mainstream means that a band starts making music that is ´more popular´for example lets say illnath makes this kind of music and then they make pop instead (bad example i know) . And why do they make pop instead? because pop is the most popular genre at the moment so they get more money. that is going mainstream sorry for the bad explanation hope u understand tho

I think so too. COF became famous and their music kind of changed to bad side...I like COF's old stuff bud new ones suxxx...I was trying to find some similar bands and found Illnath, Catamenia (perfect one), In Flames etc...they are so much better than Cradle Of Filth, believe me...

@mictain666 well i know it kinda sucks that they do that but who can blame them? they get more money so ofcourse they do it. only a few bands stay original and true to the real loyal fans.tho inflames is my fav band and they have gone mainstream i can find a couple of good songs on their albums but the older ones are better yeah. @MrMammon Actually, with fame, a band usually changes their sound, sometimes greatly. Cradle at one point sounded similar to this...then they sold out. You can be a fan of a band but protest their new sound, or selling out. I am a huge fan of the Misfits, but loathe Jerry Only and the direction he took the band. I won't listen to anything after Famous Monsters.
