i studied this film and took it into practice for a while and i just tested it out in a game of 32 and 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥰 this series is money. the quick left right pump fake mostly always gets them jumping as long as you look at the rim when you pump fake. then the use of the ball swing around your head is super helpful to get the ball through. Having the guy in the video that needed correcting on him planting form and pump faking was super beneficial for my learning. Thanks a bunch R2!

Great video, and I really like the fact you've used "regular" players to try the moves (well, for sure they're 24x better than me, but still), cause they sometimes still make little mistakes (which are probably mistakes we would make as well), so we also learn from them. Keep it up!

Quick critique: The guys started off attacking with the left foot but started to abandon it once the fakes & drops were incorporated. On the up reversedrop step I disagree with teaching to shoot off 1 foot. Once the reversedrop step comes the player should jump off two and kick the leg he used to reverse back to balance. The only time a player should go off 1 foot in that situation is deep in the low post finishing with a hook shot. On the half backspin you were correct it is a slight shimmy of the shoulder to fake the defender but forgot to mention the biggest secret is the slight head turn that really sells it. Couple things to improve upon but keep working & grinding y'all.
@stillthisappeal2 жыл бұрын
Love the breakdown of the footwork on the step-through. It helped me figure out why sometimes I can't get the defender to bite. Really helpful to see three guys work through the drills too. All around, a great video.

At 1:53 I have a question: if he does not jump with both feet at the same time, then why it is not a travel? I mean if the player does not jump with both feet at the same time, then he obviously moves his pivot foot and he makes one extra step. Why this is would not be a travel? Can you explain exactly what does the rule say in NBA?
@conordolan392 жыл бұрын
It’s isn’t a travel. It’s legal to rise your pivot foot as long as you don’t put it back down. But a lot of referees don’t know this and call travel anyways
@BenGregs3 жыл бұрын
Quick question. A guy I consistently play always does a euro step but stops after his pick up and 2 steps. Then continues into a pivot. Is that a travel?

@rodgiepangan3 жыл бұрын
I think the shimmy at 06:56 is unnecessary because you’re not going to take the shot going to your right unless you’re going to lay it in or do a hookshot from that awkward position. As a defender it would be easy to read that move based on your pivot foot.
@leo_95993 жыл бұрын
Good point but I don't think in every possession the defender is going to read you 100%. In some instances (especially when they're tired) that shimmy makes them react and will get you your separation.

Saying Ref’s don’t know the game is like saying lawyers don’t know the law. Your making an instructional video and people believe what you are teaching them. Try to preference moves like that as some Refs may call travel.
@Castro-qt8pv3 жыл бұрын
Completely agree with this one. Im trying to look for a comment that talks bo it this. I have a question about the fake and the step through. So he sayin in highschool refs would call that travel, wouldn’t they call that travel in the league too? Since he moved his pivot. Wasnt it travel to move his left foot first since his moving pivot was his right?

@@Castro-qt8pv No you can pickup pivot foot when shootimg
@Castro-qt8pv3 жыл бұрын
@@walker_tracy8988 yea ik he can, but my question was, wouldn’t it be travel if he didnt pick both his feet up? Like if he lifted his left foot up while his right foot was on the ground, would be travel. So wouldnt jumping with both feet be the right way?
@walker_tracy89883 жыл бұрын
@@Castro-qt8pv no because essentially if you stride out with the foot you aren't pivoting with and then lift the pivot foot while simultaneously shooting your good

LeBron need to watch this video. Hell when he get some MOVES then I'll consider him a goat. IF and only IF he had these moves or any moves he would be the best player to EVER do it. Cause he is taller, faster and stronger than MJ. If he had these moves like MJ and Kobe he would be the best player to ever do it. I don't care about the titles and worthless stats ( Westbrook). Don't forget about the moves that you need to posses to be a Goat NOT just passing. To me he is just a Shaq on wheels.
