Coach Kelly goes over the 'triangle dodge drill' and breaks down the 3 keys that will beat your defender every time.
A lot of my lacrosse kids come to me telling me how they have trouble separating from their defender. And what I find is even if the player has very good speed and athletic ability, they aren't separating and dodging in a straight line.
So these are 3 keys that I teach and if you follow these 3 keys you will beat your defender very often, if not almost every time:
I call this exercise the 'Triangle Dodging Drill'
1. Your first 3 or 4 steps should be left to right so you can make their defender move their feet.
2. Watch the defender's hips
3. Change speeds and change direction (stutter-step dodge)
