Pali seems to have simpler structures. Probably much the way spoken Latin even in mid-Roman times probably used simpler and, frankly, less confusing structures than the elegant, sophisticated written texts that are considered 'default Classical Latin' today. And Pali sounds much more Hindi-esque.

That's because Sanskrit was specially created to express spirtuality concepts and nothing else. When you're trying to explain the source of creation to someone, only Sanskrit can help you.

An analogy immediately pops to mind Italian is to Latin as Pali is to Sanskrit, down to the clusters simplifying to geminates and semivowels fortifying into affricates and the grammatical endings merging into simple vowels

Italian is to Latin as Hindi is to Sanskrit. But Vulgar Latin is to Classical Latin much the way Pali is to Sanskrit. Probably especially Late Vulgar Latin where significat simplification already hat set in.

Pali can't be older, Pali is a type of prakrit, which came after. Also Devanagari was much later adopted for Sanskrit texts. Earlier Sanskrit was a verbal language, than written.

Exactly. They say Pali is a kind of Standard Prakrit of pre-Christian times Buddha (or the early Buddhists, perhaps) used becaused they considered the 'elitist', refined Sanskrit too haughty. Much the way English Quakers called everybody 'thou' rather than differ between the 'thou' for family, friends, acquaintances, servants and the 'you' for respect persons. A difference still extant in the English of then and happily surviving throughout most European languages of now.

Mostly same language. Most people are trained in classical sanskrit and they pick up vedic sanskrit in a year. Just that vedic sanskrit had different accent.

...either they are taken from two different texts / translations or the comparison of the 2 varieties of this language look completely different. They don't have the same word ratio one-to-one and the sentences look like 2 different languages almost as different as the video of Sanskrit vs Pali.

पाली is the root language and father of refined / modernized / cultured language called Sanskrit which evidently a lanugage with mixture of words from migrating cultures into base language of Pali. Also the sanskrit is not found earlier in any inscriptions or scripts older than 1300 or so years so the sanskrit is a modern language accompanying everything of adjacent cultures like iranian, afghan and russian and other european migratory endevours to India.

You know right how your comment itself contradicts everything you stated in it. You say Samskrta is a modern language, but also say it's the language of the "migrants" (by which, you're hopefully referring to the Indo-Aryan Steppes who entered the Indian Subcontinent around 2000-1800 BCE. I'm sure you also believe that Pāli is the indigenous language of India, but at the same time forget that Samskrta, Pali and the different Prakrta Languages belong to the same family of Indo-European Languages.

@@Cash_2854 the migrants are much recent migrants - the era where Pali started to be a language of buddhist universities where people flocked for education . Sanskrit is languages compiled with additions and edited over periods by Buddhist scholars such as Chandra and in later days by Panini. It's majorly to accompany inter-intelligibility among Indians and foreigners /migrants. Verily I'm not talking about the periods where Africans migrated through the khaiber pass and found a landmass. It's pretty recent in term of human modern history.

Sanskrit uses devnagri script which is 800-1000 years old, But pali uses the oldest script of india the Dhamma Lipi (brahmi script)..... and its impossible to write sanskrit in dhamma lipi because there are not enough letters to write sanskrit..... Pali and Prakrit (oldest language of india) - -> Buddhist hybrid sanskrit (Middle age of india) --> vedic and classical sanskrit (today's language)

You are so wrong , you don’t have basic knowledge of Indian history , From Sanskrit Prakrit languages came and paali came much later . Sanskrit was written in many scripts before Devanagari such as Brahmi , Gupta Brahmi , kharoshrit , sharada and siddha etc. Brahmi script ( There is no such thing called Dhamma lipi) has all the letters to write Sanskrit but Prakrit and Pali languages don’t have all the letters .

Bruh 😒 It's not a Bheemta flag. It is the International Buddhist flag which was created in Sri Lanka in 1885. Sri Lanka introduced it to other Buddhist countries. In the 1950 International fellowship of Buddhists, This flag was adopted as International Buddhist flag.
