ILW 2020: Obligations Erga Omnes Before the International Court of Justice

International Law Weekend 2020 took place online on October 22-24, 2020. The theme was "International Law in Challenging Times."
PANEL DESCRIPTION: In Gambia v. Myanmar, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) provisionally held for the first time that all States Parties to the Genocide Convention, not only “specially affected” States, have standing to enforce the Convention’s obligations erga omnes partes. This roundtable panel will consider the practical and diplomatic implications of the decision and discuss the difference between obligations erga omnes and erga omnes partes.
