Love the Poppy Tee and will be heading out tomorrow to pick up some yarn. I’m not a fan of the tubular bind off but have had success with the Invisible Ribbed Bind Off - Knitting by Phrancko . My go to, however is HiyaHiya Grandmas stretchy bind off. It can be done in both 1x1 and 2x2 rib and is easy, stretchy and looks great. Happy knitting.

Hi , for Italian bind off, I tried doing it the way a pattern said, and had to stop and do it the way I learned from Sacha knits, a Italian knitter ,a man, and I get two dpns, and separate my knits and purls, and Kitchener; basically, off the stitches,and it is so much neater. You do need needle stoppers, to help make the process easier,

I love your Poppy Tee so much! The color is amazing. Sorry you’re having trouble with the Italian bind off. I had to try different tutorials because the first time i did it, I was not doing a step correctly 🙃 I’m glad I found your podcast! You’re color choices are so great. Blue is my favorite color so I can’t wait to see how the tank top knits up.

HI! I just found your channel and I really am enjoying it! I also cannot do tubular/italian bind off correctly either. Everyone else I watch are always saying how polished it looks, but mine looks so messy. I also hate doing it so I will stick with a regular bind off 😄

The vest no 2 spring edition converted me into a sweater vest girlie as well!! I had never owned a sweater vest before, but my vest no 2 spring edition has been my most worn hand knitted garment lately haha. Your vest (and all your other projects) are beautiful! That Elle sweater is going to be so luxe!

I made a June Top with one skein of the Sonata yarn! It’s cropped but totally fine with high waisted pants 😊

oooooh I really like the idea of a blue June top 👀

Totally here for your obsession with blue, your poppy tee is gorgeous! You could maybe make a summery scarf with the leftover yarn - i think a bralette might not be so convenient because the fibre blend might not have enough elasticity.

Tbh I LOVE the stripes on your blue T shirt. Absolutely love them. I love watching your videos. Also, my first tubular bind off had tension issues bc the instructional video I had seen kept saying “don’t pull the yarn too tight.” I started just pulling it tight anyway and it fixed the tension issue for me. It’s my favorite bind off now.
@sweaterandspice Жыл бұрын
oooooh!! I’ve actively avoided pulling too tightly on my bind offs because I heard the same thing.. maybe this is the solution 🤔🤔

I think you can knit a tanktop with the skein of noro.

ty for these videos - i love hearing your thought processes and random concerns and opinions on your knits haha. they're very relatable thoughts and it makes me feel less alone!! lol the poppy tee is amazing and the fit looks perfect on you. also i've been looking at a bunch of sandnes garn booklets to buy (all their patterns look gorgeous).. do you recommend getting them from a specific online store? i found some on mother knitter and wool & co. but thought i'd ask you first!
@sweaterandspice Жыл бұрын
thank youuu for your kind words 💕 I get my sandnes garn booklets from the Knitt website when they have it in stock and honestly their shipping is a little expensive but I find it’s cheaper compared to mother knitter! And I haven’t personally used wool & co. so can’t speak to that one (but from a quick glance I don’t see many sandnes garn patterns)

Roving style yarns such as Noro yarns have that thick/thin variation. It is in how the yarn is formed. I love the striping and color variations of your blue sweater. It makes it very interesting and pleasant to look at. It is quite beautiful and fits you well.

Hi! I don't know if this is the issue, but for the tubular cast-on on your peacock cardigan, did you knit through the back loop on the first round? I just though that the stitches looked twisted maybe and that might be the problem...? It looks beautiful so far though. Can't wait to see it finished :)
@sweaterandspice Жыл бұрын
omg… honestly there’s a solid 80% chance I did because I always think I have to do that for tubular cast on 🙈 I’m gonna pay more attention next time I do it and see if that’s the problem!!

Hello I have some Sonata in a beautiful red and since we are about the same size Im wondering if you hit gauge or you changed needle size? Yours turned exactly how i’d want it
@sweaterandspice Жыл бұрын
Yes I hit gauge! My swatch looked a teensy bit loose but I really like how the fabric looks for the poppy tee (maybe because I knit tighter in the round?)

I don't think you need to be embarrassed about how much money you have spent on yarn! I'm pretty sure a lot of knitters/fibre people have spent silly amounts of money on yarn (I know I have haha), and even if they haven't, they won't be the ones to judge you :D your projects all look lovely btw!

you’re right haha! I am amongst my people 🥰

agreed. there are more expensive hobbies out there 😅 i don’t think it’s right to judge anyone based on their spending habits because everyone prioritizes differently and spends/saves differently ❤

I also struggle with the tubular life. Maybe someday T_T For stripey patterns check out Emily Curtis - she has a cute couple cute stripey tanks that are great for scrap yarn.
