Given: Number of poles (p) = 6 Supply frequency (f) = 50 Hz Slip at no load = 1% Slip at full load = 4% We know that the synchronous speed (Ns) of an induction motor is given by: Ns = (120 * f) / p Substituting the values, we get: Ns = (120 * 50) / 6 Ns = 1000 rpm At standstill condition, the rotor speed (Nr) of the motor is zero. Hence, the slip (s) is equal to 1(How can it become 1%, If there is no Nr initially so slip will be Ns/Ns=1 or 100%). Therefore, s = (Ns - Nr) / Ns 1 = (1000 - Nr) / 1000 Nr = 0 rpm At full load condition, the slip (s) is equal to 4%. Therefore, s = (Ns - Nr) / Ns 0.04 = (1000 - Nr) / 1000 Nr = 960 rpm Now, we can calculate the frequency of the rotor (fr) at standstill and full load conditions as follows: fr = f * s At standstill condition, fr = f * s = 50 * 100% = 50 Hz At full load condition, fr = f * s = 50 * 4% = 2 Hz
