He is legendary as a singer and musician and he died way too early from lung cancer at the age of 45 in 1965. His daughter Natalie Cole was a huge singer in the 80’s thru the 2000’s and did a famous duet split screen version of Unforgettable with a video of her dad. It’s a great video. Unfortunately. She passed away in December 2015. They both had the most beautiful voices. Glad that you reacted to him.

My dad loved the King. He initially ran his office out of our house, and I can remember falling asleep to the sound of Nat King Cole on his stack of records. Dad was an architect, and he said he did his best work listening to this man's voice. All I know is that nearly 70 years later, I only need to hear 2 or 3 seconds of his voice to be sent back to that perfect world, where everyone was safe, protected, and loved. One of his best is "I Wish You Love." "I wish you bluebirds in the spring, to give your heart a song to sing..." Check it out!

Played this at my grandfather’s funeral last year. He was 100 when he passed, and he was definitely unforgettable! He LOVED the crooners/big band music and used to sing this and dance around the house. Seeing this today feels like a sign… miss you, Slick! ❤️

Nat King Cole, in my view, is the epitome of gentlemanly class and style. His voice is superlative. It rises above all others. It’s totally ironic but his cover of “Smile” always makes me well up with tears just because it’s so beautiful. I truly cannot recommend that one enough. There’s something so genuine in his performances. It feels like every word is important and almost like he’s singing them right at you. So so glad you checked him out! One of my all time faves. I was born in1959 and feel the same way as you do. The 50s, 60s, 70s and some artists from the 80s had a lot of great artists and groups that put out great music. The only difference between then and now, is the fact that there was no such thing as auto-tune.

Needless to say, his "Christmas Song" (Chestnuts roasting on an open fire...) is a holiday classic. Besides his musical career, Nat also appeared in several films. He appeared as a lounge singer in The Blue Gardenia and has a more dramatic role as a French Foreign Legion mercenary in China Gate. If you haven't already sampled Sammy Davis Jr. you should. One of the most talented performers of the second half of the Twentieth Century...singer, tap dancer, actor, amazing impersonator, the whole nine yards. He was a member of the infamous Rat Pack, along with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and a host of others.

I grew up listening to Nat King Cole, playing on the stereo while my parents danced to it. They were serious fans. I am too. My kids who are in tgeur thirties grew up with his music too, and his Christmas album is one of their adult faves still. Such a talent and a good man.

Originally, Nat Cole fronted a jazz group called The King Cole Trio and wasn't a singer at all. They had booked a gig where a singer was required. Cole said "we don't have a singer" He tried it himself, and the rest is history. He was a fabulous jazz pianist, but fate had a different plan.

Nat King Cole had the most beautiful smooth voice that brings me to tears every time I hear him. Anything by him is wonderful. His daughter, Natalie Cole, was also a wonderful singer. She did a duet of this song with a hologram of him and it is incredible, might I say "Unforgettable"? He did a fantastic Christmas album and I have it on CD. I play it every year. It's not Christmas without NKC's "Christmas Song."

This was my nana and grandads song. It was so beautiful to watch how much they loved each other whenever they listened to it. We played it at both of their funerals because there love was the type to live on forever even after death. Always brings a tear to my eye

Nat was my Mothers favourite Singer...Hands down...She knew all of his songs..And Sang along with him when he came on the Radio..Fast forward many years..I became a Blink (Blackpink's Fandom name) and they had a Mini Concert in Seoul for the Fans. Roseanne and Lisa decided to do a Duet together. Rosie started off by playing the piano and began to sing. Of all the songs they could have picked, they chose L-O-V-E By Nat King Cole..The Tears burst from me...It was one of her Favourites..He is a Legend..

I love that you are watching and appreciated these beloved singers! I used to watch them in shows with my mom. This is a special time that would be something my mom and I would do. I have 5 older siblings so I loved doing things with just my mom. I have a double love for things like this. Also, we have a lot of records and I would lay in front of the huge record player in our front room and just listen for hours to these records.
