As far as the "queues" go on stage, Plant once joked that they should have called themselves "The Band of Nods," because they were always communicating with each other visually. The reason why they did this was because each of them would ad-lib and improvise all the time....and they had the freedom to do that at-will. They needed to let the others know when they were supposed to come back in.

What's amazing about the crowd response is they've never heard this before as the album wasn't released yet. Further, you know you're good when you can do an unreleased song as your encore.
@sicotshit70687 ай бұрын
I believe it was Knebworth (1979) they played a couple songs from In Through The Outdoor, that weren’t released yet. I believe In The Evening was one of them, that live at Knebworth is mind blowing.

Good point, lol! Knew it was brand new, but never thought about it from the encore standpoint!

Congratulations on your growing discography collection. The album art for HOTH was done by a design team called Hipgnosis, and they did album art for other bands like Pink Floyd and Paul McCartney and Wings, among others. The setting is called Giants Causeway and is located in Ireland and the inner gatefold is from nearby castle called Dunluce. The children are brother and sister, Stefan and Samantha Gates who were photographed climbing up the stone outcroppings, then the images were multiplied so it would appear there were several children. The scene got its inspiration from sci-fi author Arthur C. Clark's novel called "Childhood's End". Jonesy said there was always a TON of onstage communication through nods, looks, gestures, words, etc., and that it really kept you on your toes because the improvisation meant a song could go anywhere so they had to pay attention to keep it together.

@@ToMitoReacts1017 Here's some very basic info for each album so far: LZI - cover art by a graphic artist friend of Jimmy's who used a type of pen and ink method to recreate the Hindenburg disaster. Back cover band picture was taken by Jimmy's former Yardbird member Chris Dreja. LZII - created by Jimmy's fellow art school student friend who took an image of Germany's legendary "Flying Circus" WW I flying aces, led by the "Red Baron" and added the band's images instead. In addition, he added sunglasses and beards/moustaches to the other members standing around. I've heard 2 stories of who the female face is 1) French actress Delphine Seyrig or 2) UK actress Glynis Johns. This album is also known as "The Brown Bomber" due to its brownish, almost sepia toned coloring. LZIII - created by a multi-media artist using a volvelle so you could turn the wheel and see different images slide around the different openings. Early vinyl pressings have "Do What Thou Wilt" and "So Mote Be It" etched into the dead wax. Both are sayings associated with UK occultist Aleister Crowley, among others (the alleged occult/esoteric connections to LZ is a *whole* other rabbit hole). LZ IV - the image of the old man was recently discovered to be a UK roof thatcher named Lot Long. The picture looks like it's hung on a crumbling wall and you can see more buildings being destroyed in the background. Supposedly, this was to illustrate changing times, moving from old to new. This album also has the 4 symbols the band chose for themselves (which, I believe I explained to you in a previous post, probably one of the first videos you started from this album). The interior also has a representation of The Hermit from the tarot, a figure that represents the personal journey of wisdom and enlightenment. I already told you about HOTH. Physical Graffiti - title chosen by Jimmy; he said "physical" was to represent the hard work that went into the creative process and "graffiti" to illustrate the far-reaching effects. The buildings are real and located at 96 and 98 St. Mark's Place in NY. The album art is very intricate; the windows are cut out and came with inserts that you could switch between which allowed different images to show through the windows. This is by no means all the info for the albums but give a decent little overview.

Great reaction as always and yeah, the more you watch live Zeppelin, the more you pick up on their communication, their prompts for other band members. Their chemistry was like lightning in a bottle from the very start and by this performance they had honed their craft to master level.

It took me a while to get that The Ocean was the crowds of fans. Mostly those who had followed them from the beginning. I do enjoy the song. You’ve got Bonzo counting them down, all of them singing the backing vocals, a good riff from Jimmy, and Robert trying out various vocal sounds and tones.

ALWAYS MAGNIFICENT! Bonham sang alot of harmony live too!! Even in this one!! That was the final encore song. They were the MASTERS OF THE STAGE!!

You love holding us in anticipation, I’m constantly checking to see if you posted. Since they often improvise, they really need their cues, they all constantly are aware of what each other is doing. It’s amazing how they still flow so well together, I think it’s a live of Dazed & Confused, Jimmy total starts playing a different song. Bonham & JPJ look at each other & Bonham shrugs, & goes with it, I think it’s the really long version from this concert. That is an amazing solo for Jimmy, really using his magic with the bow too.

We know what you mean. That it is becoming more noticeable the little things and signals. That these are truly pros above and beyond. With Jimmy being the lead of the band - the guy who dreamt it up, put it together quickly when the Yardbirds imploded and he was holding the bag with shows in Scandinavia to fulfill, finding talent quickly and chancing on two unknowns. It's amazing his eye and ability to spot great talent and put the best rock group ever together in a very quick minute. Robert was on the verge of. having to quit and take a boring, droning job with his girlfriend pregnant and promising her he would. quit by his b-day if things did not improve in his quest. Suddenly Jimmy shows up to watch him with a terrible band in a backwater teacher's college performing. Maybe a handful of other people there. And jimmy saw what he was looking for. Then Robert turned him onto his good friend John Bonham for drums. Jimmy loved what he heard. The thing is that Jimmy not only saved Plant from a life of dreariness but, gave him a golden opportunity at what would become the biggest and best rock band ever. Plant was so awestruck by Jimmy and for most of Zeppelin was. Jimmy was the coolest, most amazing person in Plant's eyes.

Last night I watched the concert at Earls Court, sadly for some of it Plants vocals weren’t the best. Though In My Time Of Dying, was the best footage. What I found cool, was Plants daughter was there. He said they did take their kids to their concerts, to see what all the fuss was about.

Cues and hand signals? Not on this song. Zeppelin improvised on some songs, but not here.
