RIP Field Marshall Manekshaw. I'm not from India, but I know of him and came to learn more about him. There aren't many military commanders in this day and age, regardless of nationality, who are so highly regarded by those under their command as he was during his lifetime. He was, to use a saying from the US Marines, "One of the Old Breed".

Indian Army is trained in every type of warfare, be it mountain, jungle, guerilla, etc. Also, Indian Arny is better organised and more royal than the US Army!
