iMac (especially iMac 27 2020 and iMac Pro 2017) is more convenient with stunning 5K display and color accuracy that even the most expensive PC display can't be compared with it. Apple uses Mac Studio with Apple studio display and some Pro XDR Display 6K in their Headquarter building especially for design and software engineering, even Tim cook still using Intel-iMac 5K in his office.

Crazy to think how long ago the IMac Pro came out now. I bought it in 2020 for $5k and now it’s worth 1/5th of that if I’m lucky. 3 Years Later!

I'd love to see a video on how you light for your videos, specifically for this video because I see you have light coming in from the back and on your right side from that window. What side are you placing the light on, how high, are you using a grid? etc.
@BONES714 Жыл бұрын
Maybe I’ll do a studio tour. It’s nothing major. I use the aperture 300x with a light dome it’s off to my right. I just use the diffuser no grid. It’s pretty close and is almost touching my ceiling.

@BONES714 Жыл бұрын
@@myqaveli Everyones usage is different I use Lightroom and premier pro for the majority of my work. I don't pay any attention to benchmarks if that's what your concerns are with I cannot help you there. My real world experience with Apple's proprietary M series Chipset vs my 6 year old intel based computer has been huge improvement in my workflow. Whether it's opening applications and working the timeline within premiere everything is so much more responsive and snappier. I shoot with a canon r5 and trying to do anything with 4k footage without creating proxies on my iMac Pro was impossible. Now with my Mac Studio I just drag and drop footage and it doesn't even break a sweat. Those are just a couple of things why getting the Mac Studio has helped my workflow saving me time and making more money being able to take on more jobs with faster turn around.

I'm also going with the Mac Studio (M# Ultra) for my next Mac, unless they reveal a new iMac Pro M#. Currently, I'm still using my iMac Pro and loving it, but it's starting to show its age. I have a Mac Mini M1 at work, and this little thing is as fast, if not faster than my Mac! Surely it's running much better and smoother! And for the price, it's a beast. I have one question: Is it possible to use the iMac Pro only as a display? Have you tried that? I would really like to know. Thanks
@BONES71411 ай бұрын
I’m sure there’s a possible way to use the iMac as a display but not without having to jump through hoops to make it work. That would’ve been amazing to just plug the Mac Studio or mini into the iMac and have it work but unfortunately it doesn’t work that way.

Great video. I live in a mixed world of PCs and Macs and have a MacPro 5,1 and 6,1, in addition to a couple Dells and an Alienware. I spend a lot of time working with VMs and wanted a new work computer that would allow me to open a lot of VMs simultaneously, and still use the MAC apps I use all the time. I ended up getting a refurbished iMAC Pro 18 Core with 256gb RAM for the price of a new Mac Studio with 32gb of RAM. I wanted to get the Mac Studio because I already had a legion of monitors, but the RAM upgrade alone was over $1.5k. Out right speed is not as important to me as being able to open a crap ton of VMs and other apps simultaneously. Frankly, the form factor in the MacPro5,1 better suits my needs that the 6,1, iMAC Pro, and Mac Studio. Mine is maxxed out though with a 3.33 12 core and 128gb of ram. I love how everything is accessible without tools and has the slide in HD trays. I hate on the newer macs (iMAC Pro, Mac Studio) that you can't upgrade the computer yourself. You have to get what you think you will need down the road at purchase or you are out of luck. Personally, I think that is a doomed marketing strategy as people will just migrate to a PC where you can build it yourself for half the cost. The RAM and HD upgrade prices from Apple are extortionistic.
