Ray, this means a lot to me. I really appreciate it. It took me awhile to get the hang of Premier Pro, but I'm learning. I'm really enjoying the process of creating these videos. Please consider subscribing if you haven't already, as I hope to continue to share my passion for this amazing hobby!

I love Cherry Springs. Went to CS but couldn't make it to the Black Forest this year. Unfortunately, I had nothing but rain on the last 2 star parties.

Samara, I hear you on the rain. Unfortunately, sometimes it is how things go. For many years I let it get to me, and started to get jaded about the hobby. However, more recently, I've started to miss opportunities to observe that I thought the weather was going to be poor, and got reports back from friends on how awesome their observations were that night. One night of amazing skies is totally worth multiple attempts. That's one of the reasons I said at the end of the video to focus on the human side of the hobby. I know no other group I feel more in tune with than the amazing folks of the amateur astronomy community. You are all awesome!

@@CosmosSafari I agree. I never miss an opportunity to go to Cherry Springs and I don't keep checking on the weather because rain or shine, I always have fun over there. I Made wonderful friends that I get to see every time I return.

AWESOME video! I was there a few years ago. I slept in my car because I didn't have a tent.
@CosmosSafari5 жыл бұрын
Haha, been there, done that. My first year up there was with my brother and we had the bright idea to not set up our tent because we wanted to "sleep under the stars". As a result, the gear we had got soaked with dew, and then froze! Two grownups "sleeping" in the front seats of a car was probably one of my worst nights of sleep ever. We were completely unprepared for the range of weather conditions we experienced.

Did you go to the Black Forest Star Party or have you also been to Cherry Springs? Do you have any other tips for the audience? Please leave your valuable feedback in the comments below. I really appreciate your time and want to hear your experience as well.

Hi, I’m what I’d figure is just an astronomy-enthusiast. Not even Amateur 😅 because I don’t have any equipment besides a cheap telescope I was given as a kid (22yr old now) I was considering going to this event this year. Is... this the sort of thing you can go to without equipment and just wander and ask to see what others are photographing? Or honestly, should I look for a more novice event. Don’t worry I won’t be turned off by a legit answer. I like your work. Just trying to get a feel for if the ten hour drive is a worthwhile for me and two friends😅 or maybe you’d have recommendations for other events?

I think you would really enjoy the event, and you could learn a lot by going and have a chance to meet people of all skill levels. The astronomy community is very welcoming overall. I think you would have a blast.
