We don't know about the UI or some of it's games. And what about the Switch 2 Pro con? I believe we haven't seen the dock for it. How will backwards compatability work? (Is it like the WiiU where the Wii menu has to be opened first before doing whatever? Or can we insert the game, and go straight in without needing the Switch 1 menu?). Also we don't know if we get EShop music, home music, and other types of music back. We don't know if they will fix the EShop lag and online lag, if Switch 1 Online games on Switch 2 have cross-compatability with Switch 1, and more. Leaks could show the Switch 2 dock and pro-con, but as for anything that actually requires the Switch 2 to be on and played with, we will never know unless Nintendo says themselves. You could absolutely be right, but there are some features that are impossible to leak without turning it on and playing first.

Dude that "new trigger" is just the joycon release button. Because you all keep repeating it YES MAGNETIC PARTS LIKE THIS DO NEED A RELEASE. READ ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ They need to be strong enough to stay firmly connected Because of that, they NEED A RELEASE so they can be taken off without excess strength and without possibly breaking something. Magnetic currents can be electrically cancelled. It makes NO sense for a magnetic controller to have a detach.

No theyre not. The release buttons on the joycons at the moment would be way easier to press and even they arent easy to accidentally press. Your fingers will never accidentally press those buttons the way they are, if you do skill issue. And also with the magnet mechanism a release button is definitely needed, after all those magnets would need to be really strong. Too weak and theyd come off all the time. Too strong and no release youll fucking break it. The buttons also press in the same direction youd pull the joycon off.

Literally just seems to have a similar shape and functionality as the Switch and that might make it hard for casuals to even tell it's a new console. I'm worried about a Wii U moment here (maybe a less extreme one but a noticeable one nonetheless).

I hope you're right. I always envisaged a design that has the screen slightly higher than the joycons with the shell tapered at the corners of the screen. Like a Switch but with the screen shifted up a bit. Oh and with ribbing in places for grip. Hope that makes sense.

I really hope they aren’t real. But they prly are… 😭 Also the “new trigger” is probably the release button. Edit: also MT/S means “ mega transfers per second” on mt is 1 million transfers and this is not to be confused with mhz which means “megahertz” which is the frequency of cycles. Each cycle has 2 transfers so the speed of the ram would be 3750 mhz. Which is more than double the speed of the current ram in the switch. (Please correct me if anyrhing was wrong)

you mean once? the wii u is extremely different to the wii. youre forgetting that the nes and snes are essentially the same, and so are the n64 and gamecube. literally just graphical differences. the only real feature filled consoles were the wii and ds, maybe the switch.

The Wii U has better graphics, crossplay, a gamepad (That was kinda forced upon most games) which is different. But it sold badly because it felt like it was marketed as an accessory to the Wii, which it wasn't. It was a sequel. The PS5 Pro got backlash because it is advertised as something WAY BETTER, but the biggest difference I see is the black lines on the console. And I'm worried if Nintendo does that, we will have another Wii U on our hands in terms of sales. Wii U is great, with GREAT games. Didn't stop it from not doing so well.

I've said it before, but I think the Switch 2 could have a VR component to be the ultimate hybrid console. Hear me out, that extra trigger looks like it could be a grip button. It could have a headset accessory that connects to the dock and uses joycons as controllers which are track by gyro and cameras in the headset. It wouldn't be powerful enough to compete with PSVR 2 or PCVR, but could with mobile headsets (which a good number of devs develop for and prioritize). Nintendo kinda already has dipped a toe in it. Way too soon with the virtual boy, and also with the Wii's motion controls.

It also looks like it has a USB c port on the top also. Which is great because when you're playing it on tabletop mode like I like to do a lot with family. You can actually charge it. I think on the switch one having just the USBC port on the bottom I mean I get it so we can charge while it's in the dock, but they should have designed that a little differently so you can also charge it when it's not in the dock either besides holding it in your hand

This seems like it. It's just a Switch OLED but with some improvements and a little Spec boost. The Switch Successor is basically... Just another Switch... Called it.

4:57 something worth noting: the leaks about a "nintendo NX" were real, as NX is the switch's codename! Much like Dolphin was the gamecube's codename, and Revolution was the Wii's codename.
