This version brings so much nostalgia. I have struggled with dissociation for as long as I can remember, and as a child, I created a world where I felt safe from the chaos I was feeling. I think back to the little girl who had no idea what she was going through, but found the origin version on her dad’s mp3 downloads and felt understood. I still struggle with both disassociation and escapism as a result of the trauma in my adult life, but listening to this song again has brought so much perspective and clarity to the extent of the CPTSD. Just wow. My fellow strugglers, I just want you to know you can heal, you will heal, and the safety you’ve been searching for isn’t that far ❤️

yeah I feel similar, I discovered this version when I was like 14 (now 28) and back then I was living under strong CPTSD and have very few "nice" feelings of those times, when I hear this is like a unique nostalgia of feeling safe at least a bit.

I remember being in highschool back in 99'-0' and getting a mixed tape with this track on it from a show at Nations in D.C. it blew my mind back then and it still does now. The groove from the drums to the distorted guitar Riff and ofcourse amys' stunning vocals just makes this an epic and timeless classic from the vault of Evanescence. I wonder if the members of evanescence take time to go back and listen to this album and just reflect and draw inspiration from the early work to pursue new Ventures and subject matters to write about in their music but maintain this style and groove. Only time will tell but for the most part Evanescence keep doing what you do best and I look forward to hearing your new material.

I can understand why she changed it later on, but I also get why a lot of people like this version. There's something kind of raw about it that I can appreciate -- something that reminds me of bands like Nirvana and Metallica. I love this version. It has always helped me through tough times. My mother recently passed away, and I just relate this song to how I’m just wishing this is all a dream. I know she’s gone, and it hurts. So I just hide away from reality and convince myself that she’s here and that I’m happy because I cannot bear to face the reality. It hurts sooo much.

Amy Lee is one of the few celebrities I can really look up to, because she's incredibly talented and even though she's been through some serious depression she channels those emotions into her songs and it really shows. Also, she's beautiful without even trying and she doesn't have to resort to drugs and eating disorders, which is far too often the way.
