Since I first heard them, I'm convinced that Imagine Dragons delivers some powerful spiritual truths couched in the best kind of rock music. I love this band. I love watching other people discover this band. As a grandma, I love introducing my kids and grands to new music, and I'm still proud to have introduced this band, and Kaleo, to my family. Imagine Dragons is like our family band now lol.

This song (or just the lyrics) was written by the lead singer Dan Reynolds about his depression he faced in 2008. It was mainly since people that are wanting to hurt themselves or do worse are considered 'selfish' but instead they feel it is worse to be on this earth.

I’ve seen Evolve and Night Visions and I made up like a storyline for them connecting. Earlier in the album someone goes to prison and made mistake. The girl that was take from him in Evolve wants him back to in this song he can’t except her cause of the the mistakes and struggles and doesn’t wanna take away her pureness and that fate chose his path and he can’t escape it.

This is a great song. Hmmm fate? To a certain extant yes fate is a thing but I think maybe it’s an excuse to deny the fact that you were willing to step in and take control of a situation for yourself.
