Imagine, it would have been possible for elvis to live til 2030(if he would have taken care of himself), a ripe old age of 95, which many people do nowadays...we'd still have him for another 10 years, and just imagine the music he would have made since '77? Sometimes it's nice to imagine.

Johnny Cash in the 80s hit a huge slump only for a 90s comeback thanks to Rick Rubin. Elvis at the end was in a financial slump, had to tour non-stop because of that and his albums were not selling like they once were. People close to him said he wanted to get healthy, wanted to get back into acting but sadly it wasn't meant to be. The biggest problem for Elvis was Col. Tom Parker. Elvis wasn't going to live much longer with him around, draining him of money, having him tour non-stop. Elvis had many friends, loyal people around him but was it honestly a good support system? His buddies in the Memphis Mafia did drugs too but were not out of control. They of course craved the attention they got. I saw an interview with one of them who said he was 42, a grown adult...they couldn't force him to get healthy because he was a grown adult. To me that is sad because good friends will go out of their way to make sure you are better taken care of. Elvis just had way too many people around him not truly looking out for his best interests. It's similar to others like Michael Jackson.

Most of all you beautiful people had made some really wonderful comments. Elvis would have had plastic surgery for sure. He wouldn’t be wearing jumpsuits for shows . Elvis was also a fashion icon. Very impeccably dressed very swagger. He would have lived to the times, he would have changed his entire fashion and hairstyle . And I believe had he had professional dedicated help for his mental and physical help. Therapy for his severe depression and misuse of prescription drugs in a proper rehab centre He would have one million percent conquered his demons. I believe he would have re kindled his relationship with Priscilla. And adored singing with his now grown up beautiful daughter. Who is the living image of him sings like him too. And embraced his Grandchildren. Without the circus clown Tom Parker as his manager rid himself of all the hangers on Elvis I know would have done serious acting roles with gripping story lines, sang with the greatest orchestras even written his own songs and directed films. Elvis had a hunger for learning. Was a highly intelligent man. Losing his Mum and Priscilla had damaging effects on Elvis. And I’m so glad we ALL got to enjoy him. It’s a shame that unseen concerts that must be archived should be released for us to see. Ones where he’s wearing suits!. He was phenomenal there will never ever be any other man to step in his shoes. His favourite song King Creole just for me shows what a singer he was. He could sing anything and everything. Elvis would be with us till 2030 !!!! His eternal flame will never be extinguished. Like Michael Bublè once quoted about Elvis “ God kisses his throat truly” in my opinion , he was Godly an Angel. And I beleive he was the chosen one! God bless you dear Elvis your soul is immortal until we meet again, because we will. You always be in our minds and hearts forever! You will remain THE KING no matter what!!!! “ WE LOVE YOU. You are still THE GREATEST!!!!!!

Something I’ve always been endlessly fascinated with. Icons like Marilyn Monroe, JFK, John Lennon..and Elvis especially. Elvis would be 85 today and, if he’d lived, we can only speculate on the direction his life and career would have taken. I also tend to think that a “later Elvis” would have certainly embraced country music and his gospel roots more at some point. Would he have maintained his popularity throughout the age of MTV in the 80s and 90s and into the 21st century? Would Lisa Marie have ever even married Michael Jackson?? Again, it’s all endlessly fascinating to speculate about.

One of the biggest things standing in the way of a longer life was Col. Tom Parker. He was such a negative influence on him, drained him of money, pushed him to tour non stop and didn't give a damn about his well being, his health. Elvis tried to fire him but his financial issues caused him to keep Parker on. Elvis just had way too many people around him and not enough looking out for his best interests. You brought up Michael...he sadly was the same. Who knows what Elvis would've done. His album sales dropped big time in the end which was another reason for his excessive touring and live performance schedule. Would he have rebounded from that? I use Johnny Cash as an example. In the 80s his album sales dropped, his label dropped him. It wasn't until the 90s when he worked with Rick Rubin that he had a big comeback with his albums. Some of his best work. Elvis could've had that I think. He also wanted to return to acting.

It's always sad when you think about famous people who passed away and realize they could have still been living. Elvis would have been 87. Five years younger than Clint Eastwood. Both Elvis's parents passed away relatively young. His mother was 46 and his father was 63, but who knows how much effect that has? I've outlived both of my parents. My father died at 53 and my mother died at 59. I'll be 65 in a few months.

Elvis was dirt poor growing up. Quite frankly Elvis Presley fans love his soul, his heart, his music, his passion, the feelings his shared with his singing and his personality and charisma and the JOY he spread. Elvis never forgot his roots and oh how he loved black people. all people. He appreciated his fan and would never have wanted us disarmed. He fearlessly worshiped Almighty God and declined the label King saying " There is only one King and that is Jesus Christ" He refused political questions so he wouldn't influence the vote. He loved his mom, was loyal to his family and friends and was extremely charitable. His outstanding good looks were a bonus. How cruel it is to expect someone to remain the same as the world ages, as we age too. I'm 68 now, my beauty is fading because that is the destiny of anyone fortunate enough to live a long life. Elvis did more to unite people than anyone who ever lived. That's why he had to be disappeared. That's why the sudden change from 1974 to 1977. He refused to stop singing gospel warm ups before or in his concerts or to add symbolism in his concerts or on his album covers as the Freemasons aka NWO were imposing, All those who do not cooperate disappear. They are made worth more dead than alive. Ya, he refused the Church of Scientology as well. Priscilla and Lisa remain members though so.....? The point is looks are not all that made us love Elvis Presley.

I was born in 1954 to a seventeen-year-old, soon to be Elvis fan. I was raised on his records and movies. He was my boyhood idol. He died the day after I turned 23. I cried my heart out! Many male fans of Elvis both admired and envied him. I was no different but now that I'm old, I mostly feel sorry for him. Why? Because his momma was the most important feature of his life but he didn't fully understand that until he lost her. When she died, the day before I turned 4, his stardom became a terrible irony that had its rest bits and consolations but eventually killed him. If Gladys were still alive today at 108, I like to think Elvis would still be alive as well but as a furniture store owner like she always wanted; not as The King of Rock n' Roll. I believe Elvis was, in quiet moments, consumed by guilt (hence all the drugs and excess) for the 19 years between her death and his. Why? Because the stress his fame put on her contributed to her early demise; a thing he could have prevented but didn't and never forgave himself for. He knew his pleasure was her pain but it intoxicated him beyond all good judgment and he persisted with it even so. He learned her value too late and he never got over it. He tried to drown his sorrows in all the things fame afforded him but to no avail; hence the irony. Elvis has been gone now for the same length of time that he lived. For the sake of his legacy, I wish he had died in an instant, on stage after finishing If I can dream; the finale of his '68 comeback special. It was his best performance ever and that's how I like to remember him. Better still if he had just lived a simple and happy life as an anonymous proprietor of a successful furniture store like his momma wanted. kzbin.info/www/bejne/noKwqIiCqLd7sMU look for Robert Rowland comment including Elvis playlist

I think Elvis' mother's stress was caused when he went into the army. That's when she started drinking heavily and not taking care of herself which aggravated her hepatitis, which back then, probably took you out sooner than it does today. She couldn't survive without him. Elvis could never have lived such a mundane life as a furniture shop owner. He wanted success and wealth. I feel the drugs were for something more than guilt. There is a lot of speculation on the drugs....some say he got hooked in the army because they had to stay awake. Some say he had a lot of undiagnosed pain and it started that way. I think he lived the way he wanted and in spite of people wanting to change/help him, he made his own decisions. Maybe he would have gotten help after the last tour, maybe not. I guess we will never know. Something you might find interesting: Somewhere on KZbin is someone who went over his birth chart and all his astrological signs pointed to success, wealth through hardwork. He grew up poor and saw wealth as security.

Great job Angelo! It's amazing how Memphis Mafia rode on his coat tells for a long time and still didn t have the decency to be discrete. They wrote that book and sucked the juice dry to last penny. Some folks thought if they told Elvis' fans, "Oh he is lousy cause he takes drugs". I told them that they didn't know the whole story and to shut up. When I read the book by Red & Sonny and Dave Hebler I was really shocked. But he was the type of person you just don't tell Elvis Presley NO. I didn't care really because I knew that there had to be a reason for it. Everyone of his fans love him more today than yesterday, less than tomorrow. If he were still alive when I go to Graceland I'll wave to him. There is just a special something about his eyes. They seem to tell his life story. No matter what, I'll love you until the day I die, Elvis.

Looming Nana ..... I think and so does most of his family and close friends, that he had an extraordinary closeness to his mom and when he lost her he couldn’t accept it and tried every way possible ,for the rest of his life, to make himself numb and block out the pain and loneliness and pain. The army introduced him to what pills can do and he unfortunately took advantage of them and became addicted. I truly wish our love for him would have been enough to fill that loneliness but he needed his mom to fill that void. I’ve always tried to vision his mom standing behind Jesus with open arms as he was welcomed into heaven, and now he waits there for each one of his family and friends as they enter those heavenly gates.

Elvis was in a really bad place in the mid-1970s. There would have had to been a multiple team effort in order to get him out of where he was. And if Elvis had gotten into rehab and became clean, he would likely have had weight problems for the rest of his life. it is pretty amazing that he lived that long with the diet he had. He would likely still be a comic relief version of himself and would have likely changed his music to a more Country and or Christian style. If I were to be realistic here, I don't think he would have made it to 2020. More like 2015 or 2017. Elvis was a sweet, yet broken and depressed man. He had a lot of turmoil in the last few years of his life. Please, R.I.P Elvis Aaron Presley.

AT 42, WE WILL ALWAYS THINK OF HIM AS SEMI YOUTHFUL. AGE, THE ENEMY OF ALL, BUT THE YOUNG AND BEAUTIFUL IN THE PUBLIC SPOTLIGHT, FEAR IT THE MOST. HE WAS AN EXCEPTIONAL MOVER AND SHAKER FOR THE FIRST FEW YEARS BEFORE THE ARMY KNOCKED IT OUT OF HIM, AND THAT IS THE ELVIS THAT SO CHANGED MY LIFE IN TERMS OF MUSIC. IN MY VIEW HE WASTED TEN YEARS MAKING THOSE AWFUL CRAPPY FILMS, WITH A COUPLE OF POSSIBLE EXCEPTIONS, WHEN HE COULD HAVE USED THOSE YOUTHFUL YEARS BETTER WITH MUSIC. LIFE IS WHAT IT IS, AND HIS INFLUENCE AT THE START WAS REVOLUTIONARY.

Firstly, just as well we didn't get to see Elvis age or look this way. We have to remember him the way he looked in his 69 comeback special in that leather. Secondly, though it would be wonderful to still have him here with us no matter what he looked like. His early death at 42 (well...if he did die, still much speculation), was a shock to the world. He will never be forgotten.
