THIS IS 2024 and this song still ministers to me. Its so real. Very exciting and emotional at the same time. Oh yes, I want to go.

Quite agree with you sir. On one of the most unique Gospel LPS, ever! If “music expresses wordless odyssey’s” those whom The Lord has gifted to be scribes are most eloquent when they are inspired to set words to otherworldly music. This is one of my favorites by Edwin Hawkins. Surpassing arrangement, heavenly vocalist who knew “Whereof they affirmed.” PWG

To me, this is one of the greatest songs in gospel music history and many today have never even heard it!! Would they even appreciate it?!

That's a very good question. Maybe if our radio 'Gospel Announcers' would give these types of anointed songs air play, we may find out...

They can appreciate when they have been taught. This is a wonderful song. Byron Cage did a great tribute of this song. Rest on Edwin Hawkins, one of the greatest pianist in the world.

The first time I heard this song was Dec 27th, 1981, the day my mother died. I had just turned 17 yrs old. Today is the first time I've heard it since that day. That was 43 yrs ago. It's such a beautiful song, but I'm a total wreck listening to it. It's like I'm reliving that day all over again.

A beautiful song. It was sang at my pastor's funeral in March 2014. How true the words are. Just a beautiful song.

I can't begin to tell you, how grateful I am that you shared this song. I've looked for years. My all-time favorite. I only heard it a few times in the 80s, but feel in love with it. I think it's one of Edwins best work.

I can always depend on the Hawkins Family to make music like this: a quiet, humble beginning which gradually morphs into a crescendo of melodic chorus vocals, ending with a perfect blend of music and repeated vamps. This is real music. What you hear are authentic brass, strings, and a baby grand piano. Yes!!

This is quite the "prophetic song;" What a day that will be! We won't even have any recollection or memory of this current existence! Isaiah 65:17 King James Version (KJV) : For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

Something does not add up here folk! Edwin's testimony clearly suggest that heaven is not a place folk go to as soon as they passed (died). It's a place we all(should we make the best choice) will go when the trumpet sounds. Rest for while Ed,wait the trumpet to sound. It is my prayer and call that we who still are alive make the best choice. What a God inspired masterpiece through Edwin. Thank you God for these vessels who cried out salvation.
