Simon Amstell is absolutely lovely :) There's just something in him that I don't see in many other stand ups and comedians that make me feel that he's on the same level as us and it just makes him the most likable person on the planet

Simon I think you may be my favourite person. I really do enjoy the fact that you base your comedy on your vulnerability and problems, but that's probably because I can relate to you.

I absolutely love this video. I've always wanted to get into stand-up, so I'll devour anything in which a stand-up I respect talks about their experiences doing it. I've seen Simon live a couple times live now and it's always been fun.

I could not do stand up while people like Simon are natural, I have never thought deep about stand up comics until I saw man on the moon, Andys story gave me a different angle to view a comic as he hid in one of his many acts to a point of not knowing the real Kaufman, Now Simons name is enough to draw a crowd as his material made him a must see act,

I take it that final woody allan anecdote is aimed at us the audiance. It must be a good part of why so many peole enjoy Simon, he is showing his uncertainties and weakneses. We all have these to some degree. So it's like being told, your odd and imperfect but thats normal. Pleasently reasuring.

He's a really interesting character. I just read a guardian interview that pretty much portrayed him negatively. I think that sometimes people can take his honesty completely the wrong wrong way and misunderstand where he's coming from.

I don't know if Simon is the right person to be teaching people about stand-up, he grew up in the public eye and is known primarily for his work as a host on a panel show, and apart from that he is extrememly young for a stand-up. It's much better to learn from people who made it as a stand-up like Eddie Izzard. People go to see Simon Amstel because they know him from the show

I really enjoyed both series of the alternative situation comedy Grandma's House, but Simon Amstell's one man stand up comedy show is both rather repetitive and boring. These insecure, anxious and self-deprecating comedians are in essance just poor clones of Woody Allen.
