LET ME BE PERFECTLY CLEAR HERE- It is NEVER your fault and NO ONE have the right to treat you like this. You are not alone and you didn’t deserve this. You are loveable and deserve to feel safe with your partner. Please do not excuse this kind of behaviour in a relationship, mental abuse is dangerous and are likely to escalate to violence. You deserve to have someone who supports you, that you can talk to without being scared to say the wrong thing and set them off, you deserve to feel safe. You deserve to feel like a regular argument is just an argument and that you don’t have to be scared that the person will hurt you, ruin your stuff or threaten you. If you are friends with someone who’s in this situation- please don’t get mad at your friend for not leaving as they are probably extremely manipulated and might turn against you and that gives the abuser more power over the friend. Please listen to your friend, support your friend and tell them that you are here, make sure that the friend knows that they are not alone. Ask your friend to collect evidence of this behaviour and send it to you- in case of something horrible happens. And as a friend of someone who’s being abuse- do NOT confront the abuser while the friend is in that situation, this is extremely dangerous as the friend is the one who the abuser will take out that frustration on. And if you have been in this situation - I am so, so sorry that you had to go through this. Please remember that this was never your fault. I support you and I believe you. And the Slazo allegations came out, Alex along with a variety of other people all betrayed Slazo, then Kavos called them all out and specifically went after Alex, as he was a massive hypocrite and the most vocal at the time. The stuff goes back even 6 years ago, I remember bits and pieces but 6 years is a long time. I believe 7 years ago Kavos made a tweet about people who make videos on someone after a content cop, but just reiterate the points made by Idubbbz rather than adding onto it was dull and pathetic, Alex took this tweet out of context, tried to expose Kavos, Kavos replied, then like 7 years of on and off beef continued. Kavos since then has basically been waiting for this moment his entire KZbin career lmao

I wouldnt necessarily say that this is textbook BPD abuse, its just textbook abuse. Pretty much all abusers (regardless of whether they have a mental disorder or not) do this same thing, one moment they treat you like utter shit and the next moment they love bomb you to try to make you forgive them. From what we know, Alex only ever behaved like this with Alice but not with his friends, which makes it seem like his behaviour wasnt because of BPD, it was intentional. People with BPD cant control who they show signs of BPD around.

I went through and read tons of articles about the difference between NPD and BPD and I feel like he definitely leans more on the NPD side. Getting angry when she doesnt want to do his advice because thats perceived as if he isnt important, calling her every name in the book and constantly putting her down, telling her to lay down like a dog. All those are more NPD. Alex never shows a fear of abandonment, he never has any self hatred, no self harm threats. BPD and NPD has tons in common, but Alex shows none of the characteristics that separate BPD from NPD, and tons of the ones that lean more towards NPD.

I do say to leave during an argument and take it back but it’s different to this. In saying that people with bpd can obviously be abusive. Someone with bpd isn’t always abusive aswell. Alex could very well be bpd/npd they can coexist. Whether he has bpd or any other disorder/mental health issue it doesn’t ever excuse abuse. If he’s aware of bpd he should be actively seeking dbt therapy or some form of therapy. You can heal bpd unlike other personality disorders but it takes work.

I used to be in a relationship shockingly similar to this. The shitty insults constantly thrown my way, the lack of care and support towards me, the isolation from my friends and family, threatening to leave once he had pretty much made me dependent on him mentally, the love bombing when i’d try to get out. It’s hard to leave or for anyone else to get you to leave In relationships like this where they’ve made you fall completely in love then try with all they have to convince you that you are worthless without them. I asked him to help me straighten up the house once and he screamed and threatened to kill my dogs to get me to listen to him, so I finally forced him away from me and i had to beg my family and friends to cut all communication with me if I got back with him so I could only be left with him, because if losing them was a consequence I knew I’d stick to staying away, no matter how much he begged or cried to me. My heart goes out to Alice so much and I hope she’s getting the help she needs to get over that relationship, because that kind of thing can truly ruin you as a person and a lover if you let it. If he comes out with anything not in favor of what she’s said, I hope people understand that when you are being spoken to like this all the time, it can cause you to always be in a sense of fight or flight, usually it’s fight and it causes the abused to engage in reactive abuse, for which I can assure you, feels absolutely terrible after the fact and the guilt you feel for treating someone like that can also be a factor in making you stay. They also use that against you “you’re just as abusive as I am.” It’s a sad world we live in sometimes.

I had a relationship just like this for three years that I finally ended a year ago. Honestly watching these videos have actually helped me because I don’t have the proof that Alice has so most people still think my ex is too nice to do this. Seeing people say that Alex is horrible though has made me feel validated because my ex used to speak to me exactly the same, lose his temper in the same way, hit and kick me and people don’t believe that it happened but I know it did. The video of him losing it and calling her a dog was just how my ex used to be. I know it sounds crazy but hearing people say Alex’s behaviour is far from ok makes me have the proof I needed to know the way my ex treated me wasn’t ok.
