Imam Mahdi (as) is physically an Israelite, yes. The word, muslim, from sawlam, first appears in The Tanakh and was elucidated from Adam to Yeshua ben Miriam, as it is written, before the advent of Islam.

@@ThePathofAbraham When Yeshua returns in body it will be upon the day of the last Imam's martyrdom, as it is written. Moreover, if one examines some Sunni hadiths it is clear that the Imam is no longer present when the final war against Gog's forces occurs. What we call Shia today is a significant sample of what Yeshua will represent but that does not mean that all Sunni knowledge is corrupt. Indeed the hadith literature pours scorn upon the scholars of this era without discerning between the two major sects and it is the same story for the Jewish sources, and Yeshua said, do not be deceived. To the credit of this channel they mentioned teachings from the 6th Imam mentioning The Mahdi and The Renewed Covenant not long ago.

@@ThePathofAbraham He has to represent all of these if there is no change in the Sunnah/Way of Allah. Not so? Moreover, Allah has much to say in Surah The Table. However I am not saying Yeshua is not Shia, more that he is not Sunni, and he is pro-Shia. When the messenger commenced his ministry there was neither Sunni nor Shia. I will even mention a modern Sunni conclusion from Sheikh Imram Hosein, that the Netzerim will continue to the end of this age because it is written in S5:114. And why will almost all the scholars be ashamed?
