This is my favourite aquascape and video series because it's so helpful. I created a similar algae scape and had the same issues with cyano bacteria. But it was worth the battle. It became the most beautiful and healthy tank for my algae eaters!

Me too. I moved Minnows from the old Hillstream to this one that is at least 40-50% less volume. They really appreciate all the space they can get. I think this aquarium will get even better with time and especially when the algae starts developing on the rocks.

Is this the second illustration after the first one?. The first one was beautiful with or without some algae issues. Algae issues are prevalent specially in new tanks where the water coloumn holds excess nutrients for algae to bloom before the tank can complete the cycle. So is this one a modified version of the first one. I do found the round sized river rocks to be more amazing.

Is so amazing setup, really love it. Is it possible if i use dragon stone or lava rock instead the river rock to grow algae, thank u
@IMaqua2 жыл бұрын
If you are planning to keep Hillstream (River) species I would advise against it because they like smooth surfaces of river stones. Dragon and lava stones is opposite of smooth.
@barneyicycool892 жыл бұрын
@@IMaqua ok, thank u for the advice. Because is not easy to find river stone in my place. How about seiryu stone and smooth driftwood. Sorry just new in this hobbies. Thank you

It doesn't really need to be called River stones. Any smooth stone will do. If you don't have that kind of stones in a specialised aquarium stores you can always check any garden shops they usually have a nice selection of smooth stones.
