You can throw in a bale of barley, if you have any. That promotes good bacteria & reduces bad forms of algae. We use it in our dams down here in Au. It's all natural & can't do any harm at all, it will speed up the ecosystem in the water & break down, over time. Just an idea ;)

Barley straw is often used to clear ponds. Get nylon hay nets and place straw in extend draw line with a longer peice of rope and anchor end to the bank throw straw in.

On “Weed ‘em and Reap”. Da Nelle, the mom wanted a pond instead of a pool. There’s started out very cloudy. They had to have a bog. It’s above the pond with all sorts of plants in it. It acts as a waterfall always running aerating the pond day and nite. They have cat fish, and mosquito larvae eating fish. Your pond is so huge, hope the products given to you helps out. As you said, it won’t fix it overnight. 👍🏻💕🌻🙏🏻🙏🏻 First of all I hope you get enough rain to fill it.💕🌻 Someone mentioned maybe being able to use solar to have some kind of a fountain for aeration? I killed all my koi fish adding stuff to clean the pond. It was so sad.. they were big and i cried so much that i could never get any more. It did say safe.. but maybe i put too much 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I was talking about that when you first dug the pond. I didn’t know what it was exactly The apt I use to live in had a living pond with ducks and geese, fish and turtles and they would treat it a couple times a year and it looked so pretty. You knee it was time for a treatment because the bank of pond would look green with algae and muck. The stuff works well. Great gift!!!

I always enjoy watching your videos and especially learning from your videos. I never knew this was something you could do for a pond. I'm so excited for your follow-up video to see the end results. You mentioned about planting the grass later on around the pond, but have you thought about planting pond grasses or plants, like you would see at the Rivers edge or beaches. It might look good up against the berm. But then again. Jami and Lester are doing a beautiful job

The pond is really getting beautiful! Can’t wait for it to be alive and healthy. And folks! As info, the wood, one sided paddle is for the canoe and the two ended paddle is for the kayak. The canoe will be easier to paddle with the wider ‘blade’ of the wood paddle.

Interesting video! We moved into a rented property with a pond a few years back. The pump and filter broke last year and our landlord has decided not to fix it 🙄 it has lots of fish in so we have tried to keep it as healthy as possible. We have pond lilies and a small pump to help oxygenate the water. We have tried a few chemicals and cut back some of the plants in and surrounding it to try and make the water less gross (it’s now almost black and smells). Fish don’t seem bothered (not lost a single one)! But we are looking at solutions we can afford. Too expensive for us to buy a filter for it ourselves so looking into different plants and treatments right now. Fingers crossed we find something to improve the pond for the fish at least! Enjoyed watching this though!

Made me cringe too. My ex husband almost killed our dog when he drove off and caught her with the car tire. Luckily she didn't die but she lost some hair and was bruised up. After that I used a water gun to spray the dogs if they got close to any of our vehicles in the yard.

Yes! I was thinking same thing! Pond plants are very much needed for oxygen and for fish food! I know you are talking about adding a windmill but in the mean time throwing in some inexpensive floating solar powered fountains would help aerate the water. I'm so glad someone sent you chemicals. I learned about pond maintenance in high school 42 yrs ago sooo I knew you needed chemicals but dont know what anymore. I "believe" we treated our pond once a year. Mostly for algea but I know you ducks and geese will help with that. Those birds are actually part of a good ego system for pond maintenance.
