I recorded this video just before TENET in genuine 15/70 IMAX film was about to get a couple of screenings at the BFI IMAX and as I type, I'm about to hit the road. TENET is the first of Christopher Nolan's films to get a revival but all of his previous films printed onto IMAX 15/70 film are also getting an outing and you can book to see all seven of them for £105. The link to the relevant page of the BFI IMAX web site is:

I recommend that anyone interested in getting along to this modern take on what we would have called a 'Picture Palace' years ago should take the opportunity to sign up to their email newsletter before leaving the site. That way, you won't miss anything special there in the future.
The Nolan 15/70 IMAX itinerary is as follows:
TENET = Sunday Sunday 26 February 2023 12:00 and Monday 27 February 2023 20:15
DUNKIRK = Sunday 12 March 2023 11:30 and Thursday 16 March 2023 20:00
INTERSTELLAR = Sunday 09 April 2023 11:30 and Monday 10 April 2023 20:00
INCEPTION = Sunday 30 April 2023 11:30 and Monday 01 May 2023 20:00
BATMAN BEGINS = Sunday 14 May 2023 11:30 and Thursday 18 May 2023 20:00
THE DARK KNIGHT = Sunday 11 June 2023 11:30 and Thursday 15 June 2023 20:00
THE DARK KNIGHT RISES = Sunday 25 June 2023 11:30 and Monday 26 June 2023 20:00
For those big Batman fans with the stamina there is a Batman all-nighter with all three of the Nolan films to take you through until morning but this is separate from the £105 deal so you'll have to purchase tickets for this extravaganza separately: Saturday 10 June 2023 22:00
I should point out that as far as I know both INCEPTION and BATMAN BEGINS did not have any IMAX 15/70 shots but INCEPTION did utilize 65mm and VistaVision for some scenes to provide exceptional quality. This will mean that the full height of the 85 foot wide 1.43:1 IMAX screen is not filled at any time during these two films but all the others will have sections of the full genuine IMAX for your delectation with THE DARK KNIGHT RISES using a significant amount of IMAX that increased for INTERSTELLAR, even more in DUNKIRK and yet more in TENET with the remaining scenes being shot 65mm 2.20:1. DUNKIRK is only 1 hour 46 minutes so in percentage terms this film may have the most genuine IMAX but TENET is approximately 2 hours 30 minutes so has the most IMAX in total (I think!).
Christopher Nolan's new 15/70 IMAX film opens on 21st July 2023 so all the above are a prelude to the next Nolan epic. Let me know if you are going to see any of these works of art in the fabulous glass palace with the biggest screen in the UK that is the BFI IMAX because we may well be able to meet up as a group of fellow film enthusiasts at one or two of them.
The book 'The People's Palace' written by Mark Nicholson is currently sold out but a second edition is being printed and will be available soon. Email Mark at 'puddyplumes (at) aol (dot) com' but I've disguised his address in what I hope is an obvious fashion, so leave a comment for me if you can't work it out.
