Very good commentary on 4dx. The only thing I would disagree with is munching on popcorn while watching 4dx. I would strongly advise against that. It’s almost like eating popcorn on a roller coaster - not the best idea. Maybe stick with a small candy and half full cup of soda!

Yeah, it definitely makes for a more “interactive” experience, what with all the moving seats, water, and wind. Might not be for everyone, especially if you're just trying to enjoy your popcorn and chill. Maybe IMAX would be better for you next time-big screen, epic sound, but none of the extra splash and shakes.

I watched my first IMAX movie at Ontario Place on the Toronto waterfront in August 1975. That was also the last IMAX presentation I had ever watched. And as for 4DX -- I am actually waiting for the sequels: 5DX, 6DX, 7DX, 8DX, and the rest of them, see?

4dx does not have 3 screens . That would be “Screen X”. So this video is pretty misleading. Even showed guests wearing 3D glasses, yet this video isn’t even about 3D screens.

Great video. But why are you also showing "Screen X" footage when the topic is IMAX vs 4DX? Nowhere in the review do you mention Screen X. This can raise expectations for those now expecting to see a movie spread wall to wall on either format 🤔

I don't know if there is any law against this but why won't IMAX show mainstream porn? All they have to do is make sure people scan a driver's license at the door instead of hiring a teen who can easily be bribed. Just show the ticket and scan the DL and a revolving door lets you through but it's so small that two cannot fit through so people can't sneak in with an older buddy. I'd love to see movies like Wild Things or Bound on an IMAX screen just once in my life.

Haha, that’s an interesting thought! I guess IMAX tends to stick with more mainstream, family-friendly content 'cause it's what most folks are looking for in those big theaters. Showing adult movies could be a whole different ball game with lots of legal and reputation risks. Plus, the tech and setup they use are super pricey, so they probably wanna keep it all-ages to maximize their audience. But hey, never know what the future holds, right? Maybe one day they’ll experiment a bit.

Saw dune 2 yesterday and I loved the 4dx strobes, smells and some of the vibrations but missed out on the large screen and the audio was sub par. Really wish imax could add some extra sensory items
