Giorgio Primiceri is interested in uncovering the causes of the U.S. financial crisis. He visited CERGE-EI to discuss his recent working paper, "The Effects of the Saving and Banking Glut on the U.S. Economy," where he shows how imbalances in foreign savings and capital flows helped precipitate the crisis. While here, he sat down with PhD student Liyou G. Bourga for a CERGE-EI interview, where they discuss imbalances, crisis, bubbles, and more.
