On the last lyric, Tribe demonstrates the art of "flippin' rhymes", where two or more MCs go back and forth, interchanging wordplay, which is has become a lost art. Run DMC and the Beastie Boys were masters at that.

See you getting 5K subs before 2025 with this 2.0 channel. TCCQ built "Electric Relaxation" around and from a jazz classic by "Ronnie Foster "called "Mystic Brew". J.Cole and a few others have also jumped on this sample. Moving forward you will notice most of TCCQ joints carry that jazzy flavour, I love Jazz equally. Keep that fire burning son. "Breath and Stop" you should know, next please. 🔥P.S You said "De La Soul" YT uploads were giving you trouble?. "Stake is High" would be fire if you can touch the right buttons.

Hip hop died hard because the new generation stopped sampling Motown and Jazz, they have no familiarity with it. They also have poor diction and no sense of flow...

What a cutie Q-Tip was though. All the girlies crushed on him. His voice is so unique. Oh, Tribe. My loves. I never loved a hip hop band like I loved them. They were with me through all phases of life: My first boyfriend at 16, my wedding 23 years later (not to him, but they were in my life then too), and then their final album when I was pregnant. Can't quite capture what they've meant to me. And i've met with Q-Tip twice, and he was so dope. The coolest person I had ever met, bar none. One of the times was after his home studio burned down and he lost his entire record collection. It's a good story.

A Tribe Called Quest is one of the best rap groups ever. This was their 2nd album. It was released the same week as Wu Tang Clan died their debut album. Probably the best 1-2 punch of rap albums on a day ever. Q-Tip and Phife Dawg are so different yet compliment each other so well. Award Tour, Hot Sex and Oh My Gawd are other nice tracks from this album. Also, check out their collab with Leaders of the New School called The Scenario. Spoiler alert, but Busta Rhymes comes from out of nowhere and steals that track to start his great career.

New York City used to be cool (I lived there for many years), not so much anymore. Too expensive, too violent, and all the fun spots closed down years ago (the pandemic put the nail in NYC's coffin). Hopefully it will become cool again, but it will take a while.
