I read Nic’s book 13 years ago, shortly after it came out. I had wanted to learn more addiction because of what was going on in my family. Nic’s story is deeply sad and yet hopeful and beautiful in its unflinching honesty. The movie equally sad and beautiful in its graphic depiction of his addiction and his father’s unrelenting love and attempts to save him. Timmy Tim and Steve did an amazing job bringing Nic and his father’s story to the screen. Thank you Nic and David Sheff for sharing your stories with the world. It has helped a lot of people going through addiction.
