We had Lil Keke flown out to Cali and do a show celebrating Screw's anniversary a few years ago, because we wanted people to hear the music we loved out here in LA(We couldn't find any place that booked SUC or Texas rappers besides Scarface and Paul Wall...) Hearing Mike D talking about how some of the songs they did with Fat Pat were FREESTYLED!!!! That's incredible....... Straight up classics were improvised in the studio.... like Jazz music, like some blues... THIS IS AFRICAN AMERICAN CULTURAL HISTORY. The tradition of improvisation in black music and art is one of the most fundamental and influential elements of artistic creation. We need to shine a light on the lineage of black creativity and art. Thanks for posting this, it has definitely influenced and inspired me.
