Tho i do think that Ian doesnt fit into the yeat and ken category. His music is more soulless. Alot of the songs sound the same (not saying they are ass i have some on my pl) and they sound like they are made by ai. Same flow, same sound, and didnt have the same way of maturing his music making. I hope he does improve but he blew up way faster than yeat did. I definitely agree with Dontai that this is "background music" and that its very similar to Yeat. I like Ian's music but he's very formulaic with the beat and lyrics and flow to which it's not interesting enough to be mind blowing but can definitely hold itself up to be noticed and you know exactly what you are gonna hear when you click play. There are plenty of artists out there that have some established buzz that could release these songs and it would be received the exact same.
